Srila Gopal Bhatta Goswami's Miracle

The Lord says in Srimad Bhagavad-gita, "When a devotee serves Me and offers Me some water and a Tulasi leaf, I free them from all their debts." Do you need money, a house, or a car to serve the Lord? Even if you have nothing, you can offer Ganges water and Tulasi to the Lord...

You have heard about the Deity of Sri Radha-Raman in Vrindavan.

When Gopal Bhatta Goswami lived in Vrindavan, he every day worshipped twelve pieces of Govardhan sila. One day, a very rich man came to him and said, "Baba, please take this dress and jewellery for the Deity." Gopal Bhatta Goswami took it, but later thought, "I have taken this dress, but I worship Salagram sila and they have no hands or legs, what am I to do with the dress now? How will my Deities wear it?" He kept thinking about it.

In the evening that day, he offered the bhog as usual and went to lie down. In the morning, he opened the altar door and saw there was a vigraha (Deity-form of the Lord)! He thought, "What is this? In the evening I offer bhog to Salagram sila and in the morning I see a vigraha!" Then he saw behind the Deity there were the Salagram silas, but there were only eleven silas. What happened to the twelfth one? It turned into the Deity of Radha-Ramanjiu (Bhagavan Krishna). So, now Gopal Bhatta Goswami could put that dress and the ornaments on the Deity.

When a devotee wishes for something, the Lord fulfils their desire. You see that Gopal Bhatta Goswami got a dress for the Lord, and he wanted to give it to the Lord so much, he cried, "My Lord has no hands, no legs, what do I do?" He had this strong desire (arthi), and the Lord took the form of a Deity.
