Today is Lalita-saptami, the appearance day of Sri Lalita Devi. She appeared in Uchagaon...

রাধাপদাঙ্কিত ধাম বৃন্দাবন যার নাম
যতনে যে নাহি আরাধিল

radha-padankita dhama, vrndavana yara nama,
yatane ye nahi aradhila

"Those who have not worshipped the abode named Vrindavan, that is decorated by the lotus-like Radha..."

('Radhika charana padma' by Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur)

Krishna said to Uddhav Maharaj, "Narada is not as dear to Me, Brahma he not as dear to Me, Siva is not as dear to Me, even My Dvaraka wives (Satyabhama, Rukmini and others) are also not as dear to Me, even I am Myself not as dear to Myself as you are, Uddhav. Uddhav, you are more dear to Me than even I Myself." Krishna sent this Uddhav Maharaj to Vrindavan.

When Uddhav Maharaj came to Vrindavan, he cried, "Where have I come? Where has the Lord sent me to? I have come here to give some news about Krishna to them, but I am astonished to see how much love they have for the Lord! I have no capacity to get the darshan of the feet of these sakhis of Vraja, I cannot even touch their feet! If only I can put on my head the dust that falls from their feet as they walk by on the street, then my life's purpose can be fulfilled! If only I could become some tree or bush in Vrindavan, then I can know Krishna. Krishna sent me here, but now I realise that I could not understand Him."

What kind of love does Radharani have for Krishna? In separation, the attraction and pleasure is much greater, so Lalita Devi labours so much to create that feeling of separation. She serves with so much intensity that sweat comes from her body—she is sweating so much as she is managing Radharani. Viraha, separation, creates even more attraction to Krishna, and Lalita makes the arrangement for separation.

If we do not get permission from Lalita and Visakha, you cannot get permission from Radharani, you cannot get the darshan of Radharani, you cannot get the mercy of Radharani. You will not get Her mercy just by going to Vrindavan.

শ্রীগৌড়মণ্ডলভূমি, যেবা জানে চিন্তামণি,
তার হয় ব্রজভূমি বাস ।

"Those who always think about Sri Nabadwip Dham, reside in Sri Vrindavan."

It is those who know Gaura Mandal that live in Vraja. Those who think about Gaura Mandal, those who keep Gaura Mandal in their hearts (it is necessary to love Gaura Mandal with your heart)—they live in Vrindavan (Vraja-bhumi). You do not have to go and stay in Vrindavan—wherever you stay, you can serve the Lord, you can engage in His service and worship.

"One who swims in the waves of the nectarean ocean of divine love for Sri Gaura is an intimate associate of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava. Whether he lives in a house or in the forest, Narottam Das begs for the association of one who calls, 'O Gauranga!'"

Narottam prays for the association of those who chant the Name of Gauranga...

Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhu
'I have no power to say what kind of devotion to his Guru Jiva Goswami had. Jiva Goswami's service cannot be compared to anyone's service. Whatever order he would get, he would place it on his head and do it all the time—his mind never went to any other place.'

'I offer my obeisance unto the lotus feet of Sri Guru, who is very expert in the arts performed by the sakhis to fulfil the Forest Couple's Love Play, and is thus very dear to Them.'

Those who have material attachment, who think, 'This is mine, this is yours,'
always wander throughout the fourteen worlds.
