27 February 2017

Inauguration of Sri Chaitanya Saraswati Math Temple

Newspaper personal reporter, Tarakeswar: On Sunday, there was an auspicious inauguration of a temple of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in Bhanjupur village, Tarakeswar, Hooghly. Several thousand people gathered in the compound of the temple on this occasion. The acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in Nabadwip Dham, Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, was also present, and among special guests of the festival was Swapan Debnath, a minister of West Bengal. On this day, the devotees gathered at the temple from early morning (moreover, devotees from far away places had been arriving at the Temple from Saturday). Early in the morning, the devotees chanted songs performing Nama sankirtan. Almost eighteen thousand devotees took prasad. Some foreign devotees could also be seen on this day engaged in kirtan. It was mentioned that the mission has branches all over the world, and there are now 138 branches, including this branch in Tarakeswar. In the temple there were installed the Deities of Radha Krishna and the Deity of Sri Chaitanya. During the class it was said that the main purpose of the temple is to bring peace and happiness to the families. For this reason, the foreign devotees also come and celebrate alongside with the local people.
