Dear devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisance.

I am sending this message in reply to the email about me that was sent to the devotees worldwide recently:

They have printed this kind of letter before, they have written many things, and even gave it to Gurudev, but Gurudev never believed it. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupad said: I have no problem with those who write that kind of bad letters against me; it is people who suffer from frustration that write such letters. So, this is not a problem for me. I am doing my service, Gurudev told me not to run away from this Mission, and I am not going anywhere—until my death I will serve Gurudev's Mission. Gurudev knows what I am, Krishna knows what I am, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu knows that, Nityananda Prabhu knows that, so I have no problem.

I heard from Gurudev also that in Srila Madhav Maharaj's time some people distributed some bad letter against him and one of his disciples caught a man who was distributing it and brought him to Srila Madhav Maharaj in a very ugly way. The disciple wanted to beat him, but Srila Madhav Maharaj said, "No, no, no! Do not beat him, do not beat him! Whatever they wrote, I am worse than that. What they wrote is nothing, I am much worse than that. You must give him some sweet!" Srila Madhav Maharaj told his disciple to give a sweet to the person who was distributing that paper against him.

I do not have any problem with those who write this, with those who talk about me like this. I think they are suffering from so much frustration because they wanted to get something but they have not got it. And those who are writing this letter came to the Mission but they came only to take something from the Mission, they did not come to serve the Mission. They write this kind of letter, I have no worry about it. I do not know who wrote it, but I do not have any objection—if they are happy to write such letters, they can do, I do not mind. If Krishna can tolerate this, Mahaprabhu can tolerate this, it is OK. Gurudev has created this kind of person and Gurudev will finish this kind of person.

In Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj's time, when Srila Sridhar Maharaj made Gurudev the Acharya in 1985, many of the temple disciples and many of the sannyasis also said bad things about Srila Sridhar Maharaj, many envious people wrote bad things and criticised Srila Sridhar Maharaj. They said, "Srila Sridhar Maharaj has no intelligence," "Srila Sridhar Maharaj has no brain," "Srila Sridhar Maharaj is crazy, he has no idea whom to make the Acharya." Later, when everybody saw that Gurudev made the mission very glorious, some believed in him. Now they are saying about me, "Bad, bad, bad." What can I do? In this world there is thesis and there is also antithesis, it is like this.

Even in Mahaprabhu's time there was so much criticism, even in Mahaprabhu's time there were such people. Mahaprabhu often went to Srivas Pandit's house—Srivas Pandit had a small niece, Narayani, and they even said bad things about Mahaprabhu and Narayani. There are such people in this world, but I do not have any problem with this. I think those who wrote this letter have no knowledge about a daughter and a sister. Sudevi, Laksmi Kanti are like my sisters or daughters, Chumki and Champa are both like daughters to me. This is how I see them, but they are writing bad things about them...

If they are happy to write these things, I do not have any problem with that. I am praying to Lord Krishna that He may make them happy. They can write more if they want, no problem.
