Sri Govinda Kunda Mahatmya
samudra-sambhava gabhi surabhi apana
dugdhe abhiseka kaila vrajendra-nandana [1]
Surabhi, the divine cow who appeared from churning the milk ocean, lovingly
bathed Vrajendra Nandan Krishna with her own milk.
sei dugdhe purna kunda 'sri govinda' nama
ramya giri govardhane sobhe abhirama [2]
The pond known as "Sri Govinda Kunda," filled with that kind of milk graces
beautiful Govardhan with exquisite beauty.
kundabari mahapapahari se chinmaya
snane pane bhavabhaya tritapa nasaya [3]
The transcendental water of this Kunda can remove even the greatest sins. The
threefold miseries and all fear of this material world are destroyed by
bathing in its waters or drinking it.
bahu-bhagye keha sei dugdhasvada paya
chidananda-deha labhi krsna-loke yaya [4]
Those who, by great fortune, feel the water of Govinda Kunda taste like milk,
attain a transcendental form, and go to Krishnaloka.
sri krsna-manase yeba kare hetha snana
gupta-govardhane radha-krsna-seva pana [5]
Anyone who bathes in Sri Govinda Kunda, thinking of Lord Krishna in their
minds, attains service of Radha Krishna in Gupta Govardhan (hidden
Govardhan).
