Sri Tulasi Parikrama Giti

By Srila Chandrasekhar Acharya

namo namah tulasi maharani vrnde maharani namo namah
namo-re namo-re maiya namo narayani [1]

O Tulasi Maharani, O Vrnda Devi, I offer my obeisance unto you again and again. O Narayani, I offer my obeisance unto you again and again.

yako darase parase agha-nasa hoi
mahima veda purane vakhani [2]

By seeing or touching you, all sins are destroyed. Your glories are sung in the Vedas and Puranas.

yako patra, manjari komala
sri-pati-charana-kamale lepatani [3]

Your leaves and soft manjaris are twined around the lotus feet of Laksmi's Lord.

dhanya tulasi, purana tapa kiye,
sri-salagrama-maha-patarani [4]

O fortunate Tulasi, by your performance of austerity you have become Sri Salagram's worshippable consort.

dhupa, dipa, naivedya, arati,
phulana kiye varakha varakhani [5]

You shower mercy upon one who offers you incense, lamps, foods, worship, and flowers.

chhappanna bhoga, chhatrisa vyanjana,
vina tulasi prabhu eka nahi mani [6]

The Lord does not accept even one of fifty-six grain offerings or thirty-six vegetable offerings without tulasi leaves.

siva suka narada a-ura brahmadika
dhurata phirata maha-muni jnani [7]

Siva, Sukadev, Narad, Brahma, the other demigods, and the great learned sages all circumambulate you.

chandrasekhara maiya tera yasa gaoye
bhakati dana dijiye maharani [8]

O Tulasi Maharani, Chandrasekhar sings your glories. Give him the gift of devotion.

Odds and Ends
'When you do service, happiness and satisfaction always come, no tiredness comes; but when you go to serve maya, that time tiredness comes.'

You must throw your own happiness, your own life into the Ganges
for the benefit of others.
