Power of the Holy Name: His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Mahaprabhu said,
প্রতি ঘরে ঘরে গিয়া কর এই ভিক্ষা ।
prati ghare ghare giya koro ei bhiksa "Go house to house and beg people, 'Chant the Name of Krishna, worship Krishna, follow Krishna's teachings.'" (Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, Madhya-khanda, 13.9) Go to every house, tell them to say, "Krishna!", take Krishna's Name, and do what Krishna teaches. Who did Mahaprabhu give this order to? To Nityananda and Haridas.

suno suno nityananda, suno haridasa "Listen, Nityananda! Listen, Haridas! Make My order known to all!" (Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, Madhya-khanda, 13.8) Mahaprabhu gave an order to Nityananda and Haridas to go house to house, and Nityananda said, "If 'prati ghare ghare giya' (go house to house, to every single house), then I must first go rescue those Jagai and Madhai! I will first rescue the two worst and most notorious drunkards!" So, Nityananda went to their house. On the way, the local people tried to stop Him, "Prabhu, please, do not go there! Do not go there! There are two very bad drunkards!" Haridas went behind Nityananda Prabhu and hearing this, he became afraid, but Nityananda did not pay attention. He came to Jagai and Madhai—they were completely drunk—and said, "Jagai and Madhai, say, 'Hare Krishna!'" They looked at Him and roared, "WHAT?!" Having heard the shouting Haridas Thakur ran away—he got so scared that actually fell into a drain. He told Nityananda, "The local people told You not to go there, but still You had to go there! Why?" "Mahaprabhu told to go house to house..." On the next day they went there again, and this time Jagai and Madhai beat Nityananda. Haridas immediately ran away and gave the news to Mahaprabhu: "This is happening." Mahaprabhu called Sudarshan and hurried there. Seeing Sudarshan coming, Nityananda Prabhu said to Mahaprabhu, "What is this?! You promised that in this age of Kali You would not call Sudarshan! If You do not rescue them, whom will You rescue? You promised that in this age You would give love and affection to the conditioned souls. In this age of Kali, there are no weapons. Mridanga, kartal, love, and affection are the weapons—not shouting, beating, or killing. Love and affection—these are Your weapons to rescue them!" Mahaprabhu agreed, and Nityananda said to Jagai and Madhai, "You can beat Me, it is not a problem, but at least once say, 'Hare Krishna!' Chant the Holy Name! Beat Me if you want, but take Krishna's Name once!"...
