Daring Determination

After Mahaprabhu disappeared, Srila Rupa Goswami and Srila Sanatan Goswami continued their service in Vrindavan. Das Goswami Prabhu also came to them. What did he say? He said, "What I got from Sanatan and Rupa was even more than what I could get from Mahaprabhu and Svarup Damodar."

Das Goswami Prabhu wanted to commit suicide when his Gurudev disappeared. Now too after Gurudev's disappearance, many think, "What will I keep my life for?" This is wrong thinking, it is following your mind. Sanatan Goswami explained to Das Goswami Prabhu, "I too wanted to commit suicide once, but Mahaprabhu stopped me, and I am stopping you not too. You think that your Guru, both of your Gurus, have left, so you want to commit suicide, but no—you have some duty, you have some service here!" And he used him for service there in Vrindavan.

So, you must have a great good fortune, but who does fortune actually come to? Gurudev said one phrase, "Fortune favours the brave." Those who think, "Yes, I can do it! Anyhow but I can continue!" can succeed. It is necessary to have good fortune, but Gurudev said, "Who gets this good fortune? Fortune favours the brave." We are thinking, "Oh, I do not know if I can do it or not...", "Will I be able to do it or not?" No. We must be confident, "One way or another I will be able to do it!" Those who have such daring mentality, such strength of mind, can be successful—they can defeat the illusory environment and proceed in their spiritual environment; they have the power to do anything.
