Useless Independence His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
"Marabi rakhabi, yo ichchha tohara (মারবি রাখবি—যো ইচ্ছা তোহার): whether you keep me or kill me, it is up to You." We always say, "Krishna is the palan-korta (protector)," "Krishna takes care of me." We say, "Avasya raksibe Krsna visvasa palana (অবশ্য রক্ষিবে কৃষ্ণ বিশ্বাস পালন)—we must keep faith that Krishna will certainly protect us." We say that Krishna must protect me, but at the same time we always live independent—we always think that we can protect ourselves. That is not so, it is false. We must understand and believe that only Krishna can protect us. One day, I went to the crops field. I had just come there and had only spoken to my workers for one minute when suddenly my mobile phone rang. It was many years ago when the mobile network was not so good in this area. The tower was in Krishna-nagar, so the signal was not good here. My phone rang only once, and when I answered it, I heard that it was Gurudev. He told me, "Come here quickly!" And the line was cut after that. I immediately left everything and ran back to Nabadwip thinking that perhaps something had happened there, maybe there was some problem there, but it turned out that nothing had happened in Nabadwip. When Gurudev told me to go back, I immediately went back to Srila Sridhar Maharaj's Ambassador car that I had come by and as soon as I put one leg into the car, some people who wanted to kill me blasted a bomb—there was an explosion. Two men died on the spot, and one man was injured—he lost his hand. Those who wanted to kill me killed themselves. That is why—"marabi rakhabi, yo ichchha tohara (মারবি রাখবি—যো ইচ্ছা তোহার): whether you keep me or kill me, it is up to You." Only Krishna can kill us, and only He can protect us. We must understand this...
