Digesting Gurudev's Love

It is very difficult to get service. If you get some service, you must try to do it with sincerity.

Mahaprabhu told Gadadhar Pandit, "Seva chadi', amaya dosa lage: If you leave your service, it will be My fault." Gadadhar Pandit wanted to leave his service and stay with Mahaprabhu, but Mahaprabhu did not allow him to do it. He said so many bad words to Gadadhar at that time: "You want to stay with Me because people will give Me good prasadam and you will also take it," "You will get so much honour if you stay with Me, that is why you want to go with Me," and so on. Gadadhar Pandit said, "No, I am not going with You! I am going to see Ai (Sachi Mata)!" Gadadhar Pandit is very clever. When Mahaprabhu told him, "You must remember that you have service here," he said, "If I see Your lotus feet just once, it cannot equal ten million of Gopinath service." Hearing this, Mahaprabhu said, "Stop your mouth."

It is fortune. Many cannot digest that kind of love and affection...

I remember 1994... Krishna Mayi Didi, Guru Maharaj's permanent servitor and a pious lady, was living in the house that is now inside the ground floor of the Centenary Museum (Govinda Dham). After Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj expired, she did not want to see anyone's face, and she always kept herself inside that room, she did not come out. Only her servitor would come to her. But what result did she finally get?

Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj told: "Who will not follow Govinda Maharaj, I will drag them out, I will reject them from my heart."

I served as a security guard in those days. That day I was on duty until midnight, and nothing had happened. After midnight, when I went to bed, she left with two more people... When Gurudev came back from his tour, he asked me,

"Do you have the key from that room?"

"Yes, I have."

"Can you open it?"

I went there and opened the room (at that time, this Seva Kunja building had not been built). I never saw in my life Gurudev crying, only once I saw some tears coming from Gurudev's eyes, but when he went inside that room, I saw Gurudev's face and eyes...

They cannot understand how much love and affection Gurudev has for them. They think Gurudev loves his disciples but not his godbrothers and godsisters, and that is why they left...
