Parikrama: Rescue Raid

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
4 March 2017, Sri Nabadwip Dham
Bengali & English evening class, part 2

Past few months we have been going on preaching and you know that we inaugurated a temple in Tarakeswar on 26 February. Thousands of people took prasad there, thousands of people carried water in clay pots to the temple. It was a grand opening of the temple of Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Radha Madan-Mohan jiu.

Guru Maharaj installed two Deities of Madan-Mohan—Radha-Ramansundar in Kaikhali and Radha-Madan-Mohan in Dum Dum Park. Keeping this in my mind, I named the Deities Radha Ramansundar in Bankura and Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Radha Madan-Mohan jiu in Tarakeswar.

Several thousands of people took prasad in Tarakeswar. In one day we cooked the same amount of rice that we cook in two-three days of parikrama, and even that was not enough. You can see photographs of this festival here on the website and on Facebook and you can see how many people joined and how many people took prasad in three-four places around the Tarakeswar temple.

Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur came to Tarakeswar when he was going to leave for Vrindavan. He actually came there to get permission from Lord Siva to go to Vrindavan, but Lord Siva did not give his permission. He said, "What is your service? Your service is in Nabadwip—you must find my Prabhu's birthplace in Yogapith! At first, Ganga Mata took that place, but now she has given it back, and you must discover it."

So, it is our prayer to you—please come for this Nabadwip Dham parikrama. You do not need to worry about anything, try to come and stay here in the proper mood. You have heard the kirtan,

শক্তিবুদ্ধিহীন আমি অতি দীন
কর মোরে আত্মসাথ ॥

sakti-buddhi-hina ami ati dina
kara more atma-satha

"Please hijack me!" Sannyasis, brahmacharis, sadhus, Krishna's devotees never hijack money, they never hijack land, they never hijack property—they always hijack the jiva soul. The jiva soul is actually always attacked by the illusory environment, and the sadhus, through Krishna consciousness, hijack the souls from the illusory environment and bring them to Krishna's family, bring them to Krishna consciousness.

That is why we pray to the Lord, we pray to Gurudev, "I have no quality or qualification, I have no strength—Gurudev, please hijack me! Please engage me in the service of the Guru-Vaishnavs!" That is the meaning of this kirtan. It is in this mood that the sadhu, Guru and Vaishnavs arrange this Nabadwip Dham parikrama.

We have come to many places inviting people but many have not been able to come, and we feel it is our fortune that you have come. I am very happy you have come. It is my desire that you all come and join the parikrama every year.

Gundicha Marjan: 'Let Jagannath Come to My House'
'Another meaning of Gundicha marjan is cleaning the heart, and Mahaprabhu Himself was showing how to do it. At first He swept, then poured water and then with His own cloth, uttariya, He washed the temple. He was showing how thoroughly you must clean your heart..'

Mayura-mukuta
'All glory to the beloved of the gopis, to He who enjoys playing His vamsi flute. Glory to He who holds the flute and lifts the Govardhan Hill!'
