Parikrama: Tolerant and Chaste His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
So many devotees from all over the world have come here. Just now I have seen that some devotees from Singapore came, I saw Ireland devotees yesterday, Gopeshwar Prabhu from Ireland came, Adhoksaja Prabhu came from Mauritius, also Purujit Prabhu came from Venezuela a long time ago, Jagadananda Prabhu is coming from America, his sons, Ramananda and Premananda are already here, doing a lot of service. Balaram Prabhu also came from Venezuela; Kamalendu Prabhu has been here a long time already, and you know him—we have gone to your houses. (When we went on collection in Tarakeswar, every day we visited ninety houses.) We also went to Hooghly district and did daily programmes there, the Hooghly devotees are all coming today. I have heard that Siliguri devotees have come this morning. Also, many more devotees are coming today with Srila Avadhut Maharaj. Everybody is coming or has already come to join this grand festival at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. Amidst so many difficulties we must do this Nabadwip Dham parikrama, and I am paying my countless dandavats to those who are taking part in this Nabadwip Dham parikrama. Amidst so much adversity attacking us, amidst many unfavourable conditions we have to make preparations for the parikrama, but nothing is possible without your blessings. By your mercy, by your blessing, by your strong desire, I am getting so much help and so much strength and enthusiasm to be able to proceed with you all on this parikrama. Before Santosh Prabhu helped every year, and now devotees are coming and helping. It is necessary to arrange the parikrama nicely and that is why we pray to you all—again and again the Lord gives us tests just to see how much we can tolerate,
তৃণাধিক হীন দীন অকিঞ্চন ছার ।
trnadhika hina, dina, akinchana chhara Give up your false ego, and always consider yourself lower than grass, poor, needy, and mean.
বৃক্ষসম ক্ষমাগুণ করবি সাধন ।
vrksa-sama ksama-guna karabi sadhana Practise tolerance like a tree. Stop ill-treating others, instead nurture them.
জীবন-নির্ব্বাহে আনে উদ্বেগ না দিবে ।
jivana-nirvahe ane udvega na dibe Do not trouble others for your own upkeep, and forget your own happiness in the course of helping others. You must be as humble as a blade of grass and as tolerant as a tree. This is Mahaprabhu's teaching. In this world, people worship Durga, worship Kali, worship Laksmi, Ganesh, and others, but it is said in Srimad Bhagavad-gita (Lord Krishna says), "If you worship Me and alongside engage in all these other worships, this is wrong (avidhi)." But even though you have heard about it, you still go everywhere, you still worship Kali, Durga, Laksmi, Ganesh, etc. Mahaprabhu gave a lesson to Mukunda Prabhu—He called him "khada-jathiya" (খড়জাঠিয়া) because Mukunda went everywhere and mixed with everybody. The main thing is chastity (satitva). You must be chaste and fixed, otherwise you will not get anything. You have heard also about Ramdas Minaketan. Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami's brother arranged a festival in Jhamatpur Baharan, and Gunarnava Misra was invited as the priest, but he did not like Nityananda Prabhu for His deceit-like behaviour and practices. Mahaprabhu, on the other hand, said about Nityananda Prabhu, "Even if Nityananda Prabhu comes hugging a Muslim girl, Brahma will still fall in obeisance at His feet." This is what Mahaprabhu said about Nityananda Prabhu.
