I am very happy to hear all the devotees today.

Sometimes, we are not getting a proper opportunity to listen to some Hari-katha or Krishna-katha because we are always, the whole day and night, busy with our service to the temple, service to the devotees, service to the Mission. We are getting only little time to hear some Hari-katha, Krishna-katha, but at the same time we must set aside some time for chanting the Holy Name, for chanting Gurudev's glorification, for chanting the Lord's glorification.

"Jivana anitya janaha sara tahe nana-vidha vipada-bhara (জীবন অনিত্য জানহ সার তাহে নানাবিধ বিপদ-ভার): understand the essence that this life is not eternal and is filled with various danger." We can leave our body at any time, we can die at any time, but that is not the question. For as long as our body exists in this world, for as long as we exist, i.e. hold this body and all the senses (indriya), we should not waste time on our own enjoyment, on our own selves; we should not live a selfish life.

Suppose we stay in this world, in this human body for a hundred years, but if we enjoy ourselves and waste our time on ourselves, waste our time on our family, children, etc. during all these hundred years, then this life is nothing—these hundred years of life is nothing, it has no value; there is no sense living a hundred years. However, if you live even thirty years or forty years in this world, its worth depends on what you have done for the jiva souls. However long you are alive in this world, be it thirty years or forty years, etc. the main value, the main meaning of your life depends on whether you use your time for the service to the Lord, service to Vaishnavs, service to Gurudev, for helping the jiva souls, for being kind to the jiva souls, being humble towards the jiva souls. These are the main things.

After Mahaprabhu took sannyas, He went to Santipur and stayed at Advaita Prabhu's house. One day, His mother, Sachi Mata, suddenly came there. Chaitnaya Mahaprabhu told her, "Mother, I am very sorry. I have left your service... You have given Me this body, so this body is meant for you, My duty is to serve you, but I have become crazy and taken sannyas. Please tell Me, where shall I stay now?" Mother Sachi thought, "If I tell Him to stay at my house, Nimai will be sad because it is not good for a sannyasi to stay at his home, birthplace. No..." After thinking for some time, she said, "You can stay in Puri. It is near Nabadwip, and many people go there, so at least I will get some news what is happening to You." This is also pastimes of Mahaprabhu, this is also Mahaprabhu's teachings, Mahaprabhu's lesson for us.

You can understand that the Lord Himself comes to this world, but He renounced everything—He left, He sacrificed everything for the jiva souls—for us. For us! The Lord Himself has left everything for us. We should learn from Him. We should learn from our Guru, we should learn from our Gurudev, we should learn from our Guru Maharaj, we should learn from Bhagavan Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur and all the Guru-varga. We must really realise and understand what they did.

Sometimes we get some service, we get an opportunity to serve Gurudev, but sometimes it is our bad fortune—those of us who are unfortunate souls sometimes lose that service because of our own interest, because we want our own enjoyment. This is the main point in our spiritual life—do something for Gurudev's Mission: serve Gurudev's mission, serve Gurudev's devotees. I am telling it to everyone, please listen.

There will be time when many problems will come, when many obstacles will come, but you can learn something through that—it is a lesson for you. If you depend upon Gurudev, if you depend upon Lord Krishna, if you depend upon Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu, if you have the strongest faith, then you will definitely succeed, you will definitely reach your goal and get to your main destination. It is necessary to realise this. That is the reality, it is a fact in our life!

So many obstacles will come—so much misconception came in Mahaprabhu's time, so much misconception also came in Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur's time. So many problems came in their time, and they did not back off, they did not run away—they spoke the truth; but we are ready to compromise our niti, our principles—we compromise what Mahaprabhu teaches us with other things. What is this?! We cannot compromise with anything. Any problem can come, any situation can come, we should overcome it by the mercy of Gurudev. Why are you taking so much burden on your shoulders? What is the problem? Surrender. If you have proper surrender, you can understand it easily. If you have proper surrender, you can overcome everything.

Then, some problems can come—problems came in Gurudev's time also, in Guru Maharaj's time also. Our Param Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, left Chaitanya Math without anything, but after that he made his own mission Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. There was not so much manpower at the beginning—only Gurudev and one or two other brahmacharis; but Srila Sridhar Maharaj saw a big dream—Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math will preach Mahaprabhu's proper conception all over the world. He saw that the conception of Rupa-Raghunath, the conception of Rupa-Sanatan would be preached all over the world by Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, and that is happening now. We must know the proper conception, and we must not surrender to maya—we must surrender to the Lord. Surrender to Gurudev; do not surrender to maya.

I see that sometimes we surrender to maya, but why?! Why is it necessary? If you surrender to maya, maya will eat you—maya will take you away from the service to the Lord. That is a real fact, it is not imagination, and the scriptures also tell that. Then, we must understand these things clearly, we must surrender properly, do proper guru-seva, keep proper sadhu-sanga (good association is necessary)—if we can do that, then we can easily conquer the hearts of devotees.
