Whatever austerity comes, throw your happiness away, forget your own happiness or sadness and serve the Lord. Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur says, "Tomara sevaya yata haya duhkha, seo ta' parama sukha (তোমার সেবায় যত হয় দুঃখ, সেও ত' পরম সুখ)—All the distress I encounter in Your service is also my greatest happiness." (Saranagati, 16.4)

Many are calling from abroad today, they are sitting and waiting to call me. Devotees called me at 5 a.m. from America—it is evening in their country, everybody had gathered and they called me. Calls are coming from all over the world today—the Philippines, Israel, Abu Dhabi, Iran (it is a Muslim country, but the devotees there are serving the Lord and worshiping their Guru there), China, Singapore, Russia. Today some devotees came from Russia, so far from here—Amalendu Prabhu, Isakanti Didi, Balaram Prabhu, Gaurangi Didi, Dhanistha Didi. They all have come to serve their Gurudev. I told you yesterday also that Jayasri Didi, Rama Ratan Prabhu, Krishna Sriya Prabhu, Subhadra Didi, Abhimanyu Prabhu have come from Malaysia. They have all come to take your association and see how the Guru-puja is done. Some sannyasis are also coming to Nrisinghadev's temple from Mayapur today. Sripad Niriha Maharaj and Sripad Vishnu Maharaj are there, they are doing the festival. Devotees also called from Bokaro (Jahrikhand), Delhi (UP), Bombay, London. Everybody is observing the festival today, but actually I do not think that they are worshipping me, they are doing my Guru-puja—to me it means they are doing their Guru-puja, they are cooking well, inviting everybody. In that sense you are more fortunate because I have been able to come here to attend the festival personally.

Are you sleepy? "Ara kota kal ghumaibe maya-pisachira kole. How much longer are you going to sleep on the lap of this witch Maya?"

পিশাচী পাইলে যেন মতিচ্ছন্ন হয় ।

মায়াগ্রস্ত জীবের হয় সে ভাব উদয় ॥

pisachi paile yena mati-chchhanna haya
maya-grasta jivera haya se bhava udaya

"When someone is possessed by a ghost, they become bewildered. This condition overtakes souls bound by Maya."

Look, the sky has cleared up. It has been raining so much since the morning.

Devotee: We thought we would go on parikrama in the morning.

The Lord has kept you all here. You were thinking to do parikrama, but Sivji Maharaj told, "Stay here. It is not necessary to come to me. You can glorify the Lord here, I will be happy." That is the order of Lord Siva, "Great Vaishnavs and devotees have gathered here, listen to the glories of my Lord from their mouth." That is why you were kept in here today. One time, I also told Gurudev on the eve of his Vyasa Puja, "Gurudev, we will go for parikrama tomorrow." Gurudev said, "OK, you can go, but come back quickly." I wanted to go so that everybody knows about the festival and would come for prasadam. Now the Nabadwip town people have become very good and they accept their mistake. I always pray to the Lord that they may have attachment to Lord Krishna. They had some meeting and they say now, "We have been wrong. We understand it now." Somebody also paid one man 20 lakhs (2 m rupees) to kill me, but he could not kill me—he called me saying, "I am surrendering to you, I am seeking your shelter." I told him I was not afraid, I will go there openly. If the Lord wants to kill me, nobody can save me, but the Lord has kept me alive, and you have all come here, you are giving me your blessing, then I am getting one more year of life. If you come again next year, I will again get one more year of life.
