His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Divine Appearance Day, Sri Vyasa Puja
17 October 2020, evening, part 4

I am very happy to see you all. Gurudev selected me as his dog and as your servant, I am always with you. You are keeping me in your heart, and I am also trying to keep you in my heart because you are all my best friends. I left my family (that is, my father, my mother) thirty years ago, and I have not seen them since then, but I feel that you are all my family. I am very happy with you. This is my big family.

Today, phone calls have been coming start from the early night, 3 o'clock—devotees are calling from all over India and all over the world. I have just finished talking to the devotees at the East and West temples in London, and there is still another class with Colombia and Venezuela due after you all.

Actually, I told last Sunday that I cannot stop your Guru Puja, so I said you could do Guru Puja, but I requested you not to make festivals. Still, I see you have made a big festival—so many devotees have come. I was afraid to go to any of our temple branches in West Bengal or outside Bengal, but I am getting the news that every temple made gatherings and 500, 600, 400, 300 people came. All right, they did what they did; they are not afraid of corona or any pandemic...

A demon called Coronasur came to this world and demolished all financial, economical and other welfare, but Coronasur cannot stop the chanting of Gurudev's and the Lord's glorification, he cannot stop this. Coronasur can stop everything in this world—he can destroy economical, financial or any other material property—but he cannot stop the festival of Guru-varga, of Lord Krishna's appearance, or any Vaishnav's appearance and disappearance festival. I can see that devotees all over the world are making grand festivals, even in Russia. Many hundreds of devotees are making this festival in this world.

Actually, you are giving me so much respect, you are giving me so much honour although I do not have that kind of quality or qualification, but by the mercy of Gurudev you are giving me so much respect, that is too much for me. Gurudev always told me that some pratistha could come, that is why I always keep all pratistha at Gurudev's lotus feet and I have no problem.

Kanak (money) is for Narayan (Laksmi Devi and Narayan), kamini (women) is for Krishna, and pratistha (name and fame) is for Gurudev. At the same time, we always give respect to Srila Madhavendra Puri's pratistha. Srila Rupa Goswami Prabhu, Srila Sanatan Goswami Prabhu are very famous, but they did not run behind pratistha. In this world, so many people are running behing pratistha, name and fame—somebody wants to be the prime-minister, somebody wants to be the chief-minister, everybody is fighting for a chair, even in Mahabharata they fought for the kingdom; but great sadhus, such as Srila Madhavendra Puri, Srila Rupa Goswami Prabhu, Srila Sanatan Goswami Prabhu, always run away from pratistha. I wrote about it in Guidance 3, you can read it. I wrote that you may leave everything—you can go to a jungle or a forest to do your bhajan—but you still cannot leave pratistha. "Oh, I have left everything! I am a renunciate (tyagi)!" This is also pratistha, and you can leave everything in this world but you cannot leave this pratistha. So, it is very heavy to ask someone for that. If you leave everything at the lotus feet of Gurudev, it will be good for you, good for everybody. This is what I am trying to tell everybody today.

Run the temple in South Africa with harmony, together. South Africa is a big country, and if there are two-three centres, what is the problem? There is a centre in Durban, in Johannesburg, and another one in Pietermaritzburg. I have heard that there is some disturbance going on in Pietermaritzburg, but we must tolerate everything [not in the sense of supporting wrong behaviour, but in the sense that it is necessary to tolerate and not sow discord]. You must remember what Gurudev said. In this age of Kali, there will be some demons who will wear kanthi-malas, put tilaks and come to mix with us. They will also chant, "Hari bol! Hari bol!" The Lord exists in every jiva soul, in everything (sarva jive Krishna adhisthan), but we can also sometimes see in our devotees that there is also demon inside them. They wear tilaks, kanthi-malas, saffron clothes, but they behave like demons. This depends on the devotee, on the devotee's faith. Do you understand what I am saying? Somebody looks at the Deities and think the Deities are made of stone, bronze, gold, etc., but somebody looks at the Deities and sees the Lord's existence within the Deity. So, what you see and what existence you perceive depends on your eyes. That is why, we must be always careful.

We must preach properly. We must go door to door preaching Mahaprabhu's message. We must distribute Mahaprabhu's message everywhere. This is our main goal in life. You can have a big temple—for example, there is a big Chaitanya Saraswat Math temple in Nabadwip, but what does a 'Math' mean? We say it is home, but nobody lives in that home—there are only rats and cockroaches living there. There is a big temple there, but there is no sadhu there—only rats and cockroaches live there. So, you have made a temple, and you must understand that a temple is meant for preaching. You may have a small temple, you are just a few devotees there (maybe, fifty devotees), but you can gather together and worship your Guru with heart and soul. Make festivals, give good prasadam, glorify our Guru-varga, sing some bhajans. This is what a temple is meant for. What is the use making big buildings, big houses if devotees do not live there? So, always preach. "Prana achhe yara, sei hetu prachara (প্রাণ আছে যার সেই হেতু প্রচার)." You have life, so you must preach Mahaprabhu's movement all over the world. Our Gurudev did that, Srila Guru Maharaj did that, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur did that, and we are following their path, their way. This is our life. I have told you many times—our weapons are not sticks, guns or any other arms; our weapons are mridanga and karatals.

Preaching Mahaprabhu's movement properly in this way, this is the main things. "Prana achhe yara, sei hetu prachara (প্রাণ আছে যার সেই হেতু প্রচার): you have life, you are alive, then you must preach." If you preach in this way, I will be even happier with you, I will be even more grateful to you. I am very happy with you, and I am giving you all the power that I have got from Gurudev because when you engage yourself in the service of your Guru, you will get all power. Start to preach more and more and proceed in your spiritual life.

Gurudev has given us so much service, but we do not do it. We have no desire to serve because we are attacked by the disease of insincerity.
