Keep Your Head at Vaishnavs' Lotus Feet His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Whether you are staying in a hot area or in a cold area where there is snow, it is not a problem—wherever you are, you must practise properly. I have seen some very cold places—I had some experience of cold weather in Russia. It is a very cold place, there is five-six feet thick ice on the streets. And it is also an astonishing place because there are some days in a year when there is no night—the sun sets only for fifteen minutes, and then again rises; the day lasts twenty-three hours forty-five minutes. We have a temple in that place (Saint Petersburg). I have seen how cold it is there. Still, it is not a problem. Anyhow, it is a very good day coming this Tuesday. We must pray for the mercy of Srila Vishvanath Chakravarti Thakur, Sri Pundarik Vidyanidhi, Srila Raghunath Das Goswami. Always sing, "Kripa koro Vaishnav Thakur!"
কৃপা কর বৈষ্ণব ঠাকুর ।
krpa kara vaisnava thakura "O Vaishnav Thakur! Please be merciful! Knowing the true relationship I will worship You and my ego will go far away."
'আমি ত' বৈষ্ণব', এ বুদ্ধি হইলে
"ami ta' vaisnava," e-buddhi ha-ile, "If I think, 'I am a Vaishnav,' then I will never stop expecting honour from others (I will never become void of the desire for honour)." Sing this song and read its meaning in Gaudiya Gitanjali (Kirtan Guide). It is a good song. In this way, today I have spoken a little about the glories of Vaishnav Thakur—Sri Vishnupriya Devi, Sri Pundarik Vidyanidhi, Srila Raghunath Das Goswami, and Srila Vishvanath Chakravarti Thakur. We sing Srila Vishvanath Chakravarti Thakur's song every day,
সংসার-দাবানল-লীঢ়-লোক-
samsara-davanala-lidha-loka "I offer my obeisance unto the lotus feet of Sri Guru, the ocean of goodness who assumes the form of a cloud of mercy to deliver the souls burning in the blazing fire of material existence." (Sri Sri Gurvastakam, 1) We always sing this Guru-vandana [offering of prayers to Sri Guru], which is composed by Srila Vishvanath Chakravarti Thakur. I like this song.
সাক্ষাদ্ধরিত্বেন সমস্ত-শাস্ত্রৈ-
saksadd-haritvena samasta-sastrair "I offer my obeisance unto the lotus feet of Sri Guru, who is said by all the scriptures to be the Lord Himself, and considered to be so by the sadhus, yet is also the Lord's beloved devotee." (Sri Sri Gurvastakam, 7)
