His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Sri Nabadwip Dham Parikrama Adhivas, evening
Sri Nrisingha Palli, 22 March 2021, part 7
Translated from Bengali

One more thing I did not say is that there are caps for everyone. Ashok Prabhu is sitting over there (near the entrance) on the bench—if you have not taken one yet you can come to him before or after taking prasadam, he will give you a cap. My phone number is written on the cap—if you stray or get lost on the way, you can show the cap to someone, ask them to call me, and we will pick you up. This year it is not going to be so crowded because this year there are not so many parikrama parties. But in case you still get lost, wear the cap, and it will also protect you from the sun (you will not feel so hot). The way is actually straight tomorrow—we will go by bus to the ghat, then cross the Ganges, and then it is a straight road to Jagannathdev's temple. You will get prasadam in the morning at our first stop where we sit and speak Hari-katha (Nandan-acharya Bhavan), and at noon the prasadam will be near Jagannathdev's temple as each year.

"Again and again I offer my obeisance unto the Supreme Lord's devotees, who are saviours of the fallen, oceans of mercy, and wish-fulfilling trees."

First of all, I am offering my full obeisance at the holy lotus feet of Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, begging him for his causeless mercy, after that I am offering my obeisance to all Guru-varga, to all my God-brothers and sisters, to all the listeners, to all the motherly lady devotees, to all devotees, and I am praying to you all for your mercy to this low soul.

Today is the holy adhivas day, a holy day of the Lord. [Clamour in the audience.] Please keep quiet. Not a word. I have told you so many times not to speak gramya-katha. "Dinera madhye abala-tabala kata pachala parite para, tara madhye ki eka-bara govinda bolate nara! (দিনের মধ্যে আবল-তাবল কত পচাল পাড়িতে পার, তার মধ্যে কি একবার গোবিন্দ বলতে নার)—How many idle talks we have during the day, how much we talk during the day! We talk all sorts of nonsense and cannot even one time take the Name of Govinda!" Many ask me, "Maharaj, how do you get so much energy?" Do you want to know? Shall I teach you how? If you use your energy on other things, if you talk about this and that, then you will not get taste to chant the Holy Name, you will get the strength from the Holy Name. You will be walking tomorrow—if you walk without chanting the Holy Name, you will not get energy; but if you walk chanting Krishna-kirtan, you will see—you will not even think that you have walked so many miles. So, go with the parikrama and chant kirtan. There will be two parties, two microphones—there will be a cart at the front of the parikrama and at the back. The cart at the back is to take to the parikrama those who cannot walk so fast.

You must have some attachment. I see that not so many have this attachment. Gurudev said the same thing, and I am also saying the same thing. What does attachment mean? You will see tomorrow—many will go for the parikrama taking mrdangas, karatals, flags, etc. but when they return they lose it on the way and return without them. I see everything. People have no attachment. They go playing the mridanga, but when they stop playing, they keep somewhere and forget about it, then they run around looking for it. Mridanga, karatals are my strength—if I go to fight against Maya but lose mridanga, karatals on the way, then how will I fight? With bare hands? Walk and beats the drums! Kirtan is chanted with mridanga and karatals—you must play karatals and mridanga at the end of the parikrama too, not only around me.

Do the parikrama in this way... "Dhaitava pachhe pachhe. I will run after you." Do not run ahead and do not go shopping. I go at the front and I can see what is going on. When you go with the parikrama, you must chant kirtan, do not go anywhere otherwise you will get lost. Remember why you have come and stick to it firmly.

Where Your Desire
Can Take You
Two lessons taught by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu: both King Prataparudra and Damodar Pandit had strong desire for Mahaprabhu's mercy and earnestness in service, but was their attainment the same?

Do you know what a sensualist is? One who eats fancy food, wears fancy clothes,
hoards money, is attached to the company of women, and works hard
to make a fancy place to sleep in.
