His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Kolkata-Worldwide, 4 April 2021, part 3

This year I miss everybody who could not come for Gaura Purnima very much. I know you all have a great desire to come, and if you have a desire to come for next Gaura Purnima, Krishna will of course fulfil your desire. Surely Krishna will fulfil your desire. Try to come and try to arrange for your plane ticket, plane fare. I know there are many economical problems in some parts of South America and the economical condition in the world in general is not good, but you should remember at this time,

তোমার সেবায় দুঃখ হয় যত,
সেও ত' পরম সুখ ।

tomara sevaya, duhkha haya yata,
seo ta' parama sukha

"All the distress I encounter in Your service is also my greatest happiness."

(Saranagati 16.4)

So much sadness, so many problems, so much bondage will come, but we must overcome everything and always go forward. We must have a great desire. It is necessary to have a great desire to do service. Srila Prabhupad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur said that if you come one step towards Krishna (if you come forward to Krishna one step by one step), Krishna will come ten steps towards you (He will come towards you ten steps by ten steps). Guru and Krishna are always ready to give you mercy, but the problem is that we do not have the qualities, we do not have the capacity to accept that mercy—we cannot catch and receive that mercy. We must be proper receivers, it is necessary. The line is OK, but the problem is that the receiver is not good. We must be proper receivers otherwise we will not get the sound properly—we will not hear anything properly.

This year many temples did not make Nabadwip Dham Parikrama. ISKCON did a small parikrama (instead of five-six parties they had only one party who did the parikrama), and this year also they did not stop or halt us; they did the parikrama in the same way as we did—started in the morning and came back in the evening. Our previous temple, Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math (Jal Mandir), also did a small parikrama with about 150-200 people, not so many.

Actually, it is not about the quantity of people. This is a grand festival of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Temples are supposed to get government permission to have this festival, but why must I get their permission? I did not ask any permission. Government will give permission for one hundred people! Why is it necessary to go and get permission from the government? It is not! When Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu chanted kirtan, He did not ask Chand Kazi for any permission! Even Srila Prabhupad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur never asked the government for any permission. Then why is it necessary to ask the government for permission now? I said it was not necessary. If I was to go and apply for permission to hold this festival, the government will forward it to the police, and the police will come and disturb us. We did our parikrama without any police, without anything, what is the problem? No problem. Everything is the will of the Lord, will of Krishna.

If you have the strongest faith, then you will succeed, you will overcome all obstacles. It is necessary to have the strongest faith.

Anyhow, the festival went OK and it was very nice. Fifty-seven rooms were ready in the new guesthouse building. Despite that, many people still stayed in the nat mandir because they did not want to walk a little far, they wanted to stay with me and disturb me. People still slept in the corridor on my veranda—they like to disturb me. I came after the class at ten o'clock at night and wanted to go to sleep, but they talked and laughed in front of my gate until twelve o'clock. OK, no problem. I have to tolerate. Gurudev tolerated so much, and I must tolerate everything too... Gurudev told sometimes, "When I am in my room, I am used to hearing dogs bark, so no problem, if you put a generator right behind my door, I will get used to it too." My situation is the same. No problem.

All That Glitters Is Not Gold

We do not believe it, we think the Deity is made of wood, made of steel,
but the Deity is non-different from Krishna...
