Lord Nrisimhadev and His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Question: Why do we not worship Lord Nrisimhadev? Can some devotees, for example grihasthas (householders), worship Nrisimhadev? They can, but Lord Nrisimhadev is not the Supreme Person. He is an Avatar. There are ten Avatars (Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Nrisimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha and Kalki), and one of the Avatars is Nrisimhadev, but Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narayan. Our conception is that we do not follow even Narayan of Vaikuntha. We pay obeisance to Narayan, but our destination is more than that—we are going to Krishna of Goloka Vrindavan. There, Krishna always plays, chants, dances, Krishna is a baby, and we worship Him in santa, dasya, sakhya, vatsalya, or madhurya rasa. So, our worship is more than that. If somebody likes Nrisimhadev, they can worship Nrisimhadev, no problem. Also, I remember I asked Gurudev this same question, and his answer was, "Who are afraid, they worship Nrisimhadev." I remember that answer of Gurudev... For those who are fully surrendered to Gurudev it is not necessary to go to Nrisimhadev.
Question: What is better: to develop some attraction for the Deity, devotees, this external environment in general, or to think that I have Krishna in my heart and that is enough? No. Those who say, "Krishna is in my heart, it is not necessary to do anything," they want to cheat you. Somebody may say, "Oh, it is not necessary to wear neck beads, it is not necessary to put tilak, not necessary to do anything—Krishna is in my heart!" Actually, they are not practising, they are cheating.
