Make Krishna Your Friend

It is written in the song glorifying Prabhupad Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur, "উঠরে উঠরে ভাই আর ত সময় নাই, uthare uthare bhai ara ta samaya nai: wake up, you have no time in your hand." Any time we can leave; any time we can die. What will give us a solution?

If you want to cross a river, you have to pay the fee, but if you do not deposit anything, if you have no coin, how will you cross it? Devotional service—that is your coin. It is necessary to deposit something to your bank.

Every day Chitragupta [bookkeeper appointed by Yamaraj] is keeping your records. You are keeping your account, but that is not the actual account. Chitragupta keeps your records. Then, one day when you are called, you can get permission to cross the river if you have got the visa. If you do not have the visa, you have to come again and take the visa from the visa officer. You must apply for the visa, otherwise how will you get it? It is necessary to have desire to get it.

Krishna Himself said, "If you have desire, one day mercy will come." If you make one step to Krishna, Krishna will make ten steps to you. He is always ready to come to you, He always wants to serve you. Gurudev also said, "If you serve devotees, Krishna will come to serve to you." That is sure.

We have got a devotional seed from our bona fide Guru, and we must protect it now. নিজি নিজের বন্ধু, নিজি নিজের শত্রু, niji nijer bandhu, niji nijer satru ["you are your own friend, you are your own enemy"]: in this world no one is your enemy, no one is your friend. Only Krishna is your friend—if you make Him your friend. That is necessary.
