"Our eyes have become blind by the dust of visaya, the material world—how can we see the transcendental world, the transcendental, supra-mundane things?"

অপ্রাকৃত বস্তু নহে প্রাকৃত-গোচর ।
বেদ-পুরাণেতে এই কহে নিরন্তর ॥

aprakrta vastu nahe prakrta-gochara

"Spiritual substance is never within the jurisdiction of the material conception. This is always the verdict of the Vedas and Puranas."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Madhya-lila, 9.195)

"We cannot see the supra-mundane things with our mundane eyes, it is repeatedly said so in the Vedas and other scriptures." You cannot see the spiritual things, the chinmoy dham (transcendental abode) with your material eyes.

Once there was a kirtan at Srivas Angan, Srivas Pandit's house, and at that time Srivas Pandit's son died, but Srivas Pandit did not tell about it to Mahaprabhu. Mahaprabhu felt that there was no enthusiasm in the kirtan, so He asked,

"What has happened today, Srivas?"

"Yes, something has happened, Prabhu. My son has died."

"Why did you not tell Me about it before?!"

"Prabhu, I did not want to disturb Your kirtan, that is why I did not tell You."

Then Mahaprabhu and Srivas Pandit went to the dead body of his son, and the dead boy spoke.

Srivas Pandit continued the kirtan, he did not stop it, did not tell the news to Mahaprabhu. What a great devotee he was, and Mahaprabhu also said, "I am always present at Srivas Pandit's house."

Another time Mahaprabhu said to Srivas Pandit,

"Srivas, you are a householder, and I am telling you that from tomorrow you do not have to go for collection, begging."

Srivas Pandit was surprised, "How is it possible, Prabhu? Every day so many devotees come to my house to take prasadam, if I do not go begging, then how will I arrange it?"

"No, you will not go from tomorrow."

"Okay, I will not go, then—ek tale, du tale, tin tale!" he clapped his hands three times.

"What does that mean, Srivas?"

"It means I will fast for one day, I will fast on the next day, and then on the third day I will fast, devotees will also fast, but after that it will be impossible and I will have to jump into the Ganges."

"Srivas, you do not have to go begging—Laksmi Devi herself may have to come and go begging, but you do not have to beg, everything will come automatically."

The Lord always looks after His devotees. "Marabi rakhabi, yo ichchha tohara (মারবি রাখবি—যো ইচ্ছা তোহার): whether you keep me or kill me, it is up to You." The Lord always keeps and protects His devotees.

'He is a wish-fulfilling tree for the surrendered servants. His benevolence and tolerance shame even a tree's. The demigods and sages worship his divine feet. Eternally I offer my obeisance to my master's feet.'

It is not necessary to know volumes of scriptures, not necessary to read many books, not necessary to become a bona fide guru, nor is it necessary to become a great Vaishnav.
