Rare Sincere Mood His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
You have all come for the festival of Guru Maharaj, it is very good. What did Guru Maharaj keep us here for? To complete the works that he had not completed. Having only taken initiation, you do not become a disciple.
দীক্ষাকালে ভক্ত করে আত্মসমর্পণ ।
diksa-kale bhakta kare atma-samarpana "At the time of initiation, when a devotee fully surrenders unto the service of the Lord, Krishna accepts them as His very own." (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Antya-lila, 4.192) The main thing is atma-samarpan (to give yourself). Bhaktivinod Thakur wrote:
সর্ব্বস্ব তোমার চরণে সঁপিয়া
sarvasva tomara, charane sapiya, I have offered everything at Your feet and taken shelter in Your home. You are my Master; please consider me Your dog. Saranagati, 19.1
বাঁধিয়া নিকটে আমারে পালিবে,
bandhiya nikate amare palibe "Tie me up nearby and maintain me. I will remain at Your doorstep. I will not allow anyone who is against You to enter, I will keep them outside." "I will keep those who are unfavourable to devotion (bhakti-pratikul), who are unfavourable to you, far away—I will not let them come close to you." These are Bhaktivinod Thakur's words.

taba nija-jana prasada seviya "Whatever remnants your devotees leave behind after honouring Your prasad, I will eat that every day in great ecstasy." "Your devotees will take prasad and I will take whatever remnants they leave, with great joy every day." And what do we do? We cook, offer the bhog, and then if we see some paneer floating on top, we first pick the paneer out. We think, "I will eat the paneer first!" Who will understand this? Who will believe it?... Prabhupad said, "Have you become a sadhu or do you only dress as a sadhu?" I was telling yesterday in the class about this pastime from Chaitanya Bhagavata. When Haridas Thakur was in Phuliya, he would chant and dance all day, and the eight transformations of ecstatic love would appear within him—he would roll on the ground and cry. One time, one dhanga-vipra (a pseudo brahman) saw him and thought, "Everybody is giving so much honour to Haridas Thakur, everybody likes him so much. I also can do like him!" Then, he came near to the crowd around Haridas Thakur and began to roll in the dust. There was a snake charmer there (Anantadev himself). When the snake charmer saw what that brahman was doing, he beat him so much that the brahman ran away crying, "Father! Mother!" People asked him later, "Why did you do this?" and the snake charmer explained that he had beaten the brahman because he was a fake, a hypocrite. It is necessary to serve Krishna sincerely.
