Yukta-Vairagya: The Right Perspective

We do not mix with those who are not loyal to Gurudev, to Guru Maharaj. They may be great big Vaishnavs, they may even think they are Rupa Manjari, Lavanga Manjari, or some other manjari, but we are servants of the servants of Radharani, servants of great Vaishnavs, of Rupa Goswami, Sanatan Goswami, of Gurudev. We do not think we are Vaishnavs—we want to serve Vaishnavs. That is our quality.
You must accept what is favourable to devotion and reject what is unfavourable to devotion. Always follow yukta-vairagya, proper renunciation:

Mahaprabhu told to Raghunath Das Goswami,

"Stay at home and always chant the Name of Krishna. As appropriate, interact
with the world, remaining detached.
"Those who reject this purport and misinterpret the phrase are sensualists controlled by pleasures; they follow the path of deceit." |
'Deha-rami' means 'a sensualist'.
| "They eat fancy food, wear fancy clothes, and accumulate immense wealth. Attached to the company of women, such fools roam about night and day searching for a mansion with a fancy bed." |
What is necessary in our life?

"Instead of all this, maintain the body by accepting things that are suitable
and actually necessary for its preservation.
"Eat food in the mode of goodness and reject intoxication. Be kind to all beings and loudly chant the Name. "Do not engage in worldly affairs on the pretence of Deity worship, and always avoid attachment and aversion to worldly matters. "Never behave enviously, deceitfully, or inimically with others, brother, if you want to follow My advice. "Discuss resolute devotion in seclusion, and spend your days engaged in the service of Krishna. "If you do not have wealth, then simply perform pure worship. Offer water and Tulasi to Giridhari and hold Him to your chest." |
If you do not have money, it is not a problem—you can just serve with some water and Tulasi and keep Lord Krishna in your heart. Unfortunately, however, you get a wife, friends, parents—you get some happiness and, enjoying with that, you forget Krishna. You must think: who gave you your parents, wife, and children? You got it from the Lord, from Gaura-Nitai, from Krishna, but once you get it, you forget about it. If Krishna wishes, He can remove your happiness, He can take everything away—your parents, children, wife...
