"The dumb can speak, the lame can climb a hill—all it takes is mercy from Gurudev."

(Bhavartha Dipika)

First of all, I am offering my full obeisance at the lotus feet of Om Vishnupad Jagad Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj begging him for his causeless mercy. After that, I am offering my obeisance to all Guru-varga, all the worldwide acharyas, to all my God-brothers and sisters, to all devotees and all of you praying for your mercy to this low soul.

We have started our parikrama today, tomorrow also we will visit whatever is left for us to visit before Gundicha marjan, and the day after tomorrow we will go to Alalnath by bus. Those who take the darshan of Alalnath at this time get much sukriti. Not being able to get the darshan of Lord Jagannath at the temple, Mahaprabhu Himself went to Alalnath crying, "O Jagannath! O Jagannath!" He saw Alalnath as Jagannath. From Alalnath we will go to the temple of Saksi Gopal, after that we will take some water from Bindu Sarovar on our heads, visit the temple of Ananta Vasudev and take prasad there. Then, if it is not too late, we will take the darshan of Sivji Maharaj at the temple of Lingaraj. So, please be ready for this trip.

When Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu took sannyas, He went away with Nityananda Prabhu, Mukunda and others. On the way, Nityananda Prabhu thought, "Why will Mahaprabhu carry Me?"

Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is nondifferent from Lord Krishna. You know, one time Gopal Krishna made something naughty and Balaram slapped Him. Krishna began to cry and complained to Mother Yasoda, "Mother, Balai has hit Me today!" Mother Yasoda then scolded Balaram, "He is Your little brother. You can tell Him, You can explain it to Him, but why hit Him?" Balaram listened to it quietly, and when Mother Yasoda went away, He grasped Krishna by His shoulders and gave Him a good jerk saying, "I have hit You today, but it is for Your own good! Why do You complain to Mother? What do you think? Do You think Mother loves You more? How much time do You even spend with her? You roam all day anywhere and everywhere—You enter the mouth of a serpent, You kill Aghasur, Bakasur, Vatsasur and others! And now You are crying? Who will help You if You cry? Tell Me, who loves You more?" Then, Krishna began to cry, "Brother, You love Me more!"

Balaram serves Krishna not just with one body, but with ten bodies—He serves Krishna as His pillow (বালিস, balis), shoes (পাদুকা, paduka), peacock fan (ময়ূর পাখা, mayur pakha), bed (শয়ন, sayana), carrier (আবাহন, avahana), house (গৃহ, grha), umbrella (ছত্র, chhatra), garments (বস্ত্র, vastra), ornaments (ভূষণ, bhusana), sitting place (আসন, asana). Everything that exists in the temple is actually Balaram or Nitai.

So, when Nityananda Prabhu saw Mahaprabhu carry His danda, He thought, "Why will Prabhu carry Me?" That danda is Nityananda Prabhu Himself. What did He do then? He broke the danda into three parts and threw it into the Bhargi River. When Mahaprabhu came near Atharnala, He remembered about His danda and asked Nityananda, "Give Me My danda." Nityananda Prabhu told, "Prabhu, You were overwhelmed in kirtan and had asta-sattvik-vikar; at that time You fell on Your danda and it broke. I threw it into the river." Mahaprabhu did not believe it, "Nitai, are You trying to cheat Me? I have left everything in Nabadwip and brought just this one single thing, a simple stick. I had nothing else in this entire world, and You know very well what I have appeared in this world for. Yet You have thrown it away. Go! I will not stay with you all any more! Either I go first and you come behind, or I will go behind and you go first. Think quickly and tell Me." Then, devotees thought all together and decided, "If we go first, we will never find which way Prabhu goes behind us—He has become crazy and can go in any direction... But if He goes first, then we can at least see Him from far." So, they told Mahaprabhu what they had decided, and then Mahaprabhu immediately began to run—He ran so fast from there, like a mad elephant! Nobody could catch up with Him. In no time, He reached the temple of Jagannath.

You know that there is a bar in front of the Deities in the Jagannath temple. When Mahaprabhu ran into the temple, He stumbled onto that bar and fell down—foam started coming from His mouth and He kept saying, "Ja-ja-ga-ga, Ja-ja-ga-ga." (He could not even pronounce 'Jagannath'.) His appearance changed and became quite monstrous, He did not look like a human at all. The guards wanted to beat him, but when they ran into the Kurma Mandir and saw Him, they could not raise their hand coming under His spell. Instead, the guards called Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya, "Prabhu, come here, please. Take a look what kind of man has come! He keeps saying, 'Ja-ja-ga-ga,' and foam is coming from His mouth! He fell unconscious in the temple." Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya said, "Whoever He is, let it be, bring Him to my house."

Great devotees are very unhappy when they waste even one minute of their time on something that does not have to do with their Guru, with the service to Krishna...
