You know what is Krishna consciousness, you have heard so many of my lectures. If any time you have some questions, you can write to me by email, I will give you an answer. Always keep in touch with me, I will engage you in service (I can give you whatever service you like doing). Also, Sripad Shanta Maharaj is with you, he can advise you. I am very happy that he has brought you to me.

You know that it is not Satya-yuga, it is not Treta-yuga, it is not Dvapar-yuga now. In Satya-yuga, people's lifetime is 100,000, they practised meditation; in Treta-yuga, people's lifetime is 10,000 years, they practised fire-sacrifice (asvamedha-yajna, rajasuya-yajna, even naramedha-yajna, etc.); in Dvapar-yuga, people's lifetime is 1,000 years and they practised puja. In Kali-yuga, however, people's lifetime is only 120 years, but Krishna appears in this age in the form of Name. Krishna's Name, beauty and pastimes are non-different from Krishna, that is why if you have some qualities, if you follow Mahaprabhu's conception (I have told about it today before—if you can be humble, if you can be tolerant, and if you can give honour to others), then you can chant the pure Holy Name.

You know everything from Shanta Maharaj's association and other devotees' association, therefore your land is fertile, which means your heart is clean and open, you can give Bhakti Devi a place in your heart...

I know that you are prepared and know everything, so I do not want to explain the simple matters like dyuta, pana, striya, suna (no gambling, drinking whiskey, etc., no illegal sex and not to kill anything for yourself, like no meat, fish, etc.). You know that it is very strict in our spiritual life. Also, you must follow Ekadasi. This is how you can follow Krishna consciousness line.

This Holy Name comes through Guru-parampara—from Krishna to Brahma, from Brahma to Vyasadev, from Vyasadev to Madhvacharya, and so on. In this way the Holy Name comes to Sri Madhavendra Puri, then Ishwar Puri. Mahaprabhu Himself took initiation from Ishwar Puri. When Mahaprabhu was in Gaya, He said, "Gaya-yatra saphala amara" (গয়া-যাত্রা সফল আমার, Sri Chaitanya-bhagavat, 1.17.50). Visiting the holy place in Gaya, He said, "My pilgrimage has become successful because I have got My Guru there!" When He saw Ishwar Puri in Gaya, He thought, "He will be My guru!"

সংসার-সমুদ্র হৈতে উদ্ধারহ মোরে ।
এই আমি দেহ সমর্পিলাঙ তোমারে ॥

"samsara-samudra haite uddharaha more
ei ami deha samarpilana tomare"

(Sri Chaitanya-bhagavat, Adi-khanda, 17.54)

Within this material existence, we always have to come and go, get birth and death—sometimes we get a human body, sometimes we get a cow's body, sometimes we get a monkey's body, sometimes we get a cat's body, dog's body, etc. So, Mahaprabhu is asking His Guru, "Please rescue Me from the this kind of existence! I am giving My heart, mind, body, My everything to you."

দীক্ষাকালে ভক্ত করে আত্মসমর্পণ ।
সেইকালে কৃষ্ণ তারে করে আত্মসম ॥

diksa-kale bhakta kare atma-samarpana
sei-kale krsna tare kare atma-sama

"At the time of initiation, when a devotee fully surrenders unto the service of the Lord, Krishna accepts them as His very own."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Antya-lila, 4.192)

At the time of initiation, if a devotee becomes a complete saranagata—fully surrenders to his Guru—then Krishna thinks, "He is My heart"...

So, the Holy Name comes in this way to Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj, Bhaktivinod Thakur, Gaura Kishor Das Babaji Maharaj, Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, our Param Gurudev the Founder-Acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, and he gave everything to our Gurudev Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. In his lifetime, our Gurudev also said that if anybody wanted to receive initiation, they would take initiation from the one who is taking care of Nabadwip and other temples in India. That is me, and I am very happy that Shanta Maharaj has chosen me and you have come to me to take initiation. As I said, initiation means you must surrender to your Guru and you must serve your Guru—you can serve your Guru in many ways (you can learn from the senior devotees).
