"Krishna never leaves those who have taken shelter in Him. All others simply die in vain."

(By Srila Narottam Das Thakur, Prarthana, 17)

Mahaprabhu cannot reject those who take shelter of Nityananda Prabhu, who take shelter of Gurudev. This is the main thing.

Krishna comes in front of you as the Guru—He comes Himself or He sends His dearmost associate, His dearest devotee to you. If you take shelter in the guidance and at the lotus feet of such Guru (if you receive his guidance and listen to his advice or order), then Krishna cannot reject you, because such Guru is Krishna Himself or Krishna's dearmost associate. That is why we must follow his instruction.

We have no quality or qualification, but we can surrender fully. As I have just told, we are floating in a big ocean and cannot see the shore, but we have no other way—unless we surrender fully, we cannot get out of it. Surrender, atmaniksepa, is necessary. You must follow it, you must jump! Gurudev also told one example. Suppose you are going to bathe in Govinda Kunda or the Ganges during the winter season—it is very cold, and you are thinking, "Oh, it is so cold, shall I bathe or not? Shall I bathe or not? It is so cold!" Then what should you do? You should throw your towel, throw your cloth into the Ganges, and when the Ganges starts carrying it away, then you will jump. So, throw your mind, throw everything at the lotus feet of the Lord, then you will be able to understand everything.

We must understand clearly what is necessary in our spiritual life, what are the main things in our spiritual life. We have no quality or qualification to preach about the madhura-rasa, or any other rasa, or any other things, but it is Kartik month now (it is niyam-seva mas), and we sing this song every day:

namamisvaram sach-chid-ananda rupam
lasat-kundalam gokule bhrajamanam
yasoda-bhiyolukhalad dhavamanam
paramrstam atyantato drutya gopya [1]

"To the Supreme Lord, whose form is the embodiment of eternal existence, knowledge, and bliss, whose shark-shaped earrings are swinging to and fro, who is beautifully shining in the divine realm of Gokula, who [due to the offence of breaking the pot of yogurt that his mother was churning into butter and then stealing the butter that was kept hanging from a swing] is quickly running from the wooden grinding mortar in fear of Mother Yasoda, but who has been caught from behind by her who ran after Him with greater speed—to that Supreme Lord, Sri Damodara, I offer my humble obeisances."

The last words in this song are very nice: "Namo radhikayai tvadiya-priyayai—I humbly bow down to Your most beloved Srimati Radharani." It is very nice. We give obeisance to Srimati Radharani and Her associates, to those who are Her dearmost (Lalita, Visakha, and others).

kuveratmajau baddha-murttyaiva yadvat
tvaya mochitau bhakti-bhajau krtau cha
tatha prema-bhaktim svakam me prayachchha
na mokse graho me 'sti damodareha

"O Lord Damodara, just as the two sons of Kuvera (Manigriva and Nalakuvara) were delivered from the curse of Narada and made into great devotees by You in Your form as a baby tied with rope to a wooden grinding mortar, in the same way, please give to me Your own prema-bhakti. I only long for this and have no desire for any kind of liberation."

(Sri Damodarastakam, 7)

"Even the sons of Kuver can be rescued, can get benefit by surrendering to You! But I am a fallen soul, I am much worse than the sons of Kuver—at least they have some quality, but I have none of it. Please, rescue me from this illusory environment! Please rescue me from this situation!"

It is necessary to have the mood of surrender. It is not necessary to have so much qualification—you know that Srimati Radharani did not get any degree from Cambridge University or Oxford University, but whatever university there is in the world, She knows more than that, Gurudev knows more than that. You know, Gurudev sometimes told, "I did not even finish school—I went to school up to 9-10 years old, and after that I did not go there." But how much Gurudev knows! How much he preached all over the world! Then you can understand that somebody may be taking Ph.D., a doctor's degree, but Gurudev also has that degree—and even more than that. That is why, it is not necessary to be a big guru, a big acharya, a big temple president—these are mundane things, forget it. If you can be a servant of devotees, it is sufficient for your spiritual life. Forget everything! If can only surrender to the Lord and if you can always remember your Guru, Vaishnavs, and Bhagavan, if you can be the dust of Gurudev's lotus feet, that is sufficient.

Glorious Parama Karuna
'It is such a glorious and happy day! Gaura Nitai wanted to come but They were searching who They would come with. When They finally got Gurudev's good association, They suddenly caught Gurudev's hand and came to Caracas.'

Ei-bara karuna kara

Everybody has some ego, but what is that ego for? Your ego must be, 'I am
the servant of the Lord. I am the servant of my Guru.'
