Brahmans always live with Lord Vishnu. It is said in the scriptures that there are actually no genuine brahmans in Kali-yuga, but Srila Prabhupad Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur started giving the brahman initiation in his sampradaya because the brahmans that existed in the society at that time did not follow any rules or regulations – they lived like chandals (dog-eaters, very lowly people). I am giving you initiation now, and I do not want to ever hear that you behave like chandals in your speech and actions. Even if somebody tells you something, you must tolerate everything.

তৃণাধিক হীন দীন অকিঞ্চন ছার ।
আপনে মানবি সদা ছাড়ি অহঙ্কার ॥

trnadhika hina, dina, akinchana chhara
apane manabi sada chhadi ahankara

'Give up ego and consider yourself lower than a blade of grass, poor, destitute and vile.'

বৃক্ষসম ক্ষমাগুণ করবি সাধন ।
প্রতিহিংসা ত্যজি অন্যে করবি পালন ॥

vrksa-sama ksama-guna karabi sadhana
pratihimsa tyaji anye karabi palana

'Practise tolerance like that of a tree, stop ill-treating others and nurture everyone.'

Even if somebody does something wrong, you must forgive them. Do not become angry. When you speak to somebody (when you speak out loud), you must speak about gurudev. Do you know when I become angry? When somebody speaks against Vaishnavs. People must be able to learn from you – you have come to this line, you have come to the temple, you have become a sadhu, you wear tilaks, chant on your beads, but if people hear you say bad things, what will they think? You have children or grandchildren living with you at your house – do you speak roughly to them? You do not. Neither must you think or talk about material things.

So, only taking the manta is not everything. You must follow sadhus' orders. Even when you speak to others, you must follow the instruction of the sadhu (of your guru) at that time. Do not be hypocritical, duplicitous. Do not lie.

You have come to me to take pancharatrika diksa, and I am giving you this initiation. But when you go outside after that, you must never eat at the houses of uninitiated people. Even if you are staying at home, do not eat anything cooked by the hands of uninitiated family members. Always remember this. If you do not follow the rules yourself, how can you teach others?

Sit close to me now. I am going to give you the mantras. This is not the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, so these mantras are not chanted on the beads. I will show you one time now they are chanted, only listen.
