(1) Inaugurator of Gaudiya Sky
His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
[After the English address] I have said a few words in English because there are foreign devotees all over the world who also want to hear something. Now I will speak in Bengali. Today is the appearance day of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, who is gurudev of the founder of our Math Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Today is the day when he appeared in this world. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur is the founder of all Gaudiya Maths. Whatever Gaudiya Math you take — ISKCON and all and every other Gaudiya Math – the founder of all those Missions is Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur. I spoke about him just in (in English). I will chant some kirtan now, and after that I will continue speaking. [To one of the devotees] Have you recorded my English lecture? You can send it along with some photographs to the website. Do it right now.
Jay Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami
Maharaj ki jay. [His Divine Grace chants 'Krsna haite chatur-mukha'.] On the occasion of his gurudev's appearance day, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj composed one special song. We can sing it now, and if we understand its meaning, it will be very good for our spiritual lives. The meaning of this song is written in the books, you can read it later. It is not included in our small kirtan books, but it is there in the big kirtan books. [His Divine Grace chants 'Bhaya-bhanjana-jaya-samsana', 'Sri Guru-charana-padma', 'Sri Krsna Chaitanya Prabhu daya kare more' and other kirtans.] Today there are two festivals being held at Chaitanya Math in Mayapur and at ISKCON, and both places wrote down my name as one of the speakers at the programmes, but I could not leave you all. I knew that you were making this programme, and I had told you that I would come. I thought at first to have a programme here and then go to Nabadwip, but it would be too hard to get there in time and return by the evening – there are more programmes scheduled for tonight and tomorrow. So, today is the holy appearance day of our Param Param Gurudev, our most worshippable, most revered Bhagavan Sri Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupad. We will speak about him today.
First, I am offering my full obeisance at the reddish soles of my Divine Master Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj’s holy feet, begging him for his causeless mercy and aspiring to serve him. After that, I am offering my full obeisance to all guru-varga, all my godbrothers, all the listeners, all the motherly lady devotees and all the devotees. I am offering my obeisance at your holy feet and praying for your mercy to this lowly soul. Today is the holy appearance day of the main personality in the sky of the entire Gaudiya line, the holy appearance day of the founder of this Gaudiya sky and the establisher of all Gaudiya Maths in this world. He is our Param Param Gurudev, Bhagavan Sri Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupad. On this auspicious day, we all pray and offer humble flower offerings at his holy lotus feet. We do not know if this holy day will ever come in our lives again, but we are present here today on this holy occasion. Guru-varga come to this world and then leave, but gurudev is not somebody created artificially – He is the Lord's own, He is created by the Lord Himself. Guru-varga, Vaishnavs and great personalities come to this world to tell us about the Lord. I told you yesterday that we cannot get a letter from the Lord directly, but if we can tell our news or hand our letter to gurudev, he will convey it to the Lord. So, if we have anything to say, if we have some good intelligence and honest enquiry, we should submit it at Srila Prabhupad's holy feet today, and he will convey it to the Lord. So, we pray to you all: please pray to Srila Prabhupad today.
