You have now done the parikrama for two days. Actually, I have been thinking about something for a long time already... Because we rented the buses, it made it somewhat easier for you all, but if we were to walk all this distance, what state would the devotees be in? That is why we rented the buses to get to the ghat, and we walked from there; on the way back we also took the buses to the temple. So, I have been thinking since last year that I shall extend the parikrama to five days, then there will not be any problem. I am also trying now to finish the Mayapur temple quickly – if it is finished, we can arrange for the devotees to stay there. There are a lot of places near it that are within a walking distance. Here in Nrisingha Palli too, I have already made the arrangement to start building one more floor with rooms, then devotees will not have to stay outside. Gurudev has given me the responsibility to look after and take care about those who stay with me, and I must remember Gurudev's order. Forgetting my own happiness, I always think what I can do to make others happy.

কবে জীবে দয়া হইবে উদয়,
নিজ সুখ ভুলি' সুদীন-হৃদয়

kabe jive daya haibe udaya,
nija-sukha bhuli' sudina-hrdaya

I always think about your benefit, that is why I chastise you or speak in a straightforward manner, and Srila Prabhupad Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur told even harsher things. I read Prabhupad's books and then tell you what he says, urging you all to listen to it. Sometimes I say harsh things, but I do it to bring you to the true path without any hodge-podge practices (panchmisali bhajan, পাঁচমিশালি ভজন). I go preaching to many places, and perhaps two–five thousand people have accepted Krishna consciousness, but if I was to go and say, 'Do what you want, eat what you want. Take initiation from me!' then I would have millions of disciples, but they would get no benefit – they would have to go to hell, and I would have to go to hell as well.

I keep telling you again and again these things. You must forget your own happiness. You have seen today that when we came to the temple of Jagannath, many went straight to the bus. The temple was closed at that time, so I first arranged for everybody to take prasadam—if we had waited for the temple to open first, then the prasadam would have gone off, and everybody was also hungry by the time we had got there. You must understand that we go there to get the darshan of Jagannath mandir...

That is why, if we can extend the parikrama for one more day—if we could stay in Mayapur for two days and then take a bus and come back here, then there would not be any problem. I am thinking about you, and I will try to finish the construction there quickly.
