(1/2) Always Think of Gaura Mandal His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Please, everybody, sit down. Sit on the ground, do not worry about the dust. Hari bol! Hare Krishna! Jay Srila Guru Maharaj ki jay. We have now come to Samudragar, where King Samudrasen lived. After this place, we will return down the road we took to come here and go to Chapahatti, and from there to Radha Kunda and Shyama Kunda situated in Ritudwip. We will take prasad on the way. Then, we will go to Jahan Nagar (Jahnudwip) and Mamgachi. We will take afternoon prasad in Mamgachi, and from there the buses will take us back to our temple in Nrisingha Palli. King Samudrasen got his name because of Samudra Ghat, which is located at the present-day Nadanghat (one bank is Nadan Ghat, and the other bank is Samudra Ghat). This is the area where he ruled. I want to sing one song now about Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. [His Divine Grace chants 'Gaurangera duti pada'.]
গৌরাঙ্গের দুটি পদ, যার ধন সম্পদ, gaurangera duti pada, yara dhana sampada, se jane bhakati rasa-sara gaurangera madhura-lila, yara karne pravesila, hrdaya nirmala bhela tara [1] 'Those whose wealth and treasure is Gauranga's two feet know the excellence of devotional ecstasy. When Gauranga's sweet pastimes enter one's ears, their heart becomes pure.' If you hear about the pastimes of Gauranga Mahaprabhu, your heart will become clean. Once you hear the Holy Name of Gauranga, all material desires, all bad elements will go away from your heart.
যে গৌরাঙ্গের নাম লয়, তার হয় প্রেমোদয়,
ye gaurangera nama laya, tara haya premodaya, 'When one chants Gauranga's Name, divine love arises in them – I find this astonishing! Eternal pastimes are revealed to those who shed tears hearing Gauranga's qualities – such persons are qualified for devotion.'
গৌরাঙ্গের সঙ্গিগণে, নিত্যসিদ্ধ করি মানে,
gaurangera sangi-gane, nitya siddha kari mane, 'Those who consider Gauranga's associates to be eternally liberated reach Krishna, the son of King of Vraja. Those who always think about Sri Gauda Mandal reside in the land of Vraja.' For quite some time now I have wished to make Gauda Mandal parikrama one day. I will take you all on this bus trip. Mahaprabhu visited various places from Pichhalda, Mednipore, to Ramkeli, to the north. We can visit Srivas Pandit's place, the place in Katwa where Mahaprabhu took sannyas. We can visit all those place some day. Those who always think about Gauda Mandal will go to Goloka Vrindavan – they will not have to suffer from birth, death, old age and disease anymore.
গৌরপ্রেমরসার্ণবে, সে তরঙ্গে যেবা ডুবে,
gaura-prema-rasarnave, se tarange yeba dube, 'Those who dive into the waves in the ocean of divine love for Gaura are intimate associates of Radha-Madhav. No matter whether one lives in a house or a forest, if they call out to Gauranga, Narottam begs for their association.' You know that Srila Narottam Das Thakur was born in Sripat Khetari Dham (an area in the present-day Bangladesh). Mahaprabhu went to Khetari, as the result of which there later appeared Narottam Das Thakur. When Mahaprabhu came there, He bathed in the Padma River (we call that river the Ganges here, and in Bangladesh, the Ganges is known as the Padma River), and as He poured water on Himself, He cried, 'Narottam! Narottam!' Nobody could understand at that time who that Narottam was – there was no Narottam among the devotees. This Narottam, who appeared later, says, 'It does not matter where you are staying – in a big house, in a small house, in the forest or in the bathroom – wherever you are, you must chant Gauranga's Name. I pray for the association of those who chant His Name.' I am also praying to you all: you are doing this parikrama, chanting, 'Hari bol! Hari bol!', but when you return to your houses, you forget everything; please do not forget about it all. Narottam is praying for the association of such devotees.
jaya gaurahari jaya gaurahari
