(2/9) Preaching Expansion
His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
This Gaura Purnima many books came out, I do not know if they have been sent here yet. There is now the third volume of Guidance (along with the first two volumes) and a book about the glories of Sri Jagannath Dham (it contains description of all the places we visit during Sri Puri Dham parikrama). We have also reprinted Sri Nityananda-mahimamrita and printed the calendar booklets. If you still do not have calendars, you can take them from me here. Come to the festivals from time to time. I cannot come here all the time, but why are you not coming to join us at other places? Why are you so engrossed in your material lives? How far is Nabadwip from here? You can see the foreign devotees sitting with us here – how many thousands of miles they travel to come here! Here is Sripad Bhakti Bhakti Vaibhav Parivrajak Maharaj from Malaysia, and there is one more sannyasi whom many of you may not recognise. I have known him for many years and I remember when we met for the first time. His name was Rohini Nandan Prabhu before, and now he has taken sannyas – his name is Sripad Bhakti Nandan Sadhu Maharaj. They have given up everything and become sannyasis now... Sadhu Maharaj is in charge of our Math in Venezuela, and I told him that he can also preach in other countries of Latin America as he speaks Spanish better than English. 'Prana achhe yara, sei hetu prachara (প্রাণ আছে যার সেই হেতু প্রচার). You have life in your body, therefore you must preach about the Lord.' We had a very nice programme in Uluberia today – many people came from South 24 Parganas. Actually, seeing their enthusiasm, I want to make a temple there. But here, many of you forget to come to Nabadwip, forget to come to Vrindavan or Puri. We go there every year – to this day, I have never stopped these parikramas. This year, everybody told me, 'Maharaj, you take devotees everywhere, but why do we never go to South India?' I agreed and decided to make time to go there this year. We will go from Kolkata to Puri, stay there for six or seven days, and from Puri we will take a train to South India. In South India, we will rent A/C buses and travel to various places all the way to Tirupati. We will visit Lord Nrisinghadev's temple, the Tirupati temple, the Godavari (where Mahaprabhu spoke to Sri Ray Ramananda). Other than this, we go for parikramas every year. You can easily take a train from Kharagpur and join us. Our preaching is always increasing in many places and at many temples now, that is why I cannot come here so often and I cannot send more people here. Our only lack is a lack of servitors. There are very few genuine servitors. You can see this yourselves also – so many people come here, but how many actually come to this line and practise and serve sincerely? Everybody can see and understand this.
“গোরার আমি, গোরার আমি” মুখে বলিলে নাহি চলে ।
"gorara ami, gorara ami" mukhe balile nahi chale 'Just saying, "I am Gora's! I am Gora's!" does not do. Only when you follow Gora's practices and Gora's conception will you get the proper result.'
লোক দেখান গোরা ভজা তিলক মাত্র ধরি ।
loka dekhana gora bhaja tilaka matra dhari' 'You put on tilaks and show the whole world that you serve Gora, but secretly you do outrageous things. Gora will catch you, thief (hypocrite)!' (Sri Sri Prema-vivarta, 8.6–7) Externally, you can apply tilaks and wear neckbeads, but secretly you do atrocious things – Gora will catch you. Do not think you can get away with it. You tell everyone, 'I am doing nirjala ekadasi,' but when you go to bath in the pond, you take a gulp of water thinking nobody will know it – yes, nobody will see it, but the Lord can see everything. You cannot cheat the Lord.
