We are always always thinking, 'Oh, my body is sick', 'My body is that', 'This', 'That', 'I am hungry', 'I want to sleep', etc. All day and night, twenty-four hours a day, 100% people are thinking about that. It is ignorance. You must forget your body and remember your self. What relation is there between you and the Lord? If you understand it, then you will think about your benefit, about what is necessary for you, for your self. Only the guru can tell you that. That is why Krishna sent gurudev to us, to tell about that.

তব নিজ-জন কোন মহাজনে
পাঠাইয়া দিলে তুমি ॥

tava nija-jana kona mahajane
pathaiya dile tumi

'You have sent a great soul, Your associate, to me.'

We sing this song 'Emona durmati samsara bhitare' and think about it every day.

We are servants of the Lord, we are servants of the servants of devotees. This is our position. But the problem is that we forget our position and want to manage. There is only one manager in this world, that is the Lord, but because of our ego we want to manage something. That is our problem and big mistake. We want to manage something, but the manager is the Lord. He is the manager, and we must depend upon Him. Actually, we do not know the Lord, but we have got or we can get connection with the Lord through gurudev, through our Spiritual Master, a bona fide guru.

[To a devotee] O ** Prabhu! How many years are you going to continue your householder life? That is a big question and a very hard question, is it not? People cannot undersstand it. Maya Devi is very powerful. She gets her power from the Lord, and through that power she is using us for herself, for her own service. She takes us away from the service of the Lord. That is the main thing we should understand. Receiving her power from the Lord, Maya Devi is very powerful and she is using us for herself, she is engaging us in her own job. That is why we always think that Maya Devi is our master, and we are listening to, we are obeying and following her bad instruction. This is the reason why we are suffering...

ব্রহ্মাণ্ড ভ্রমিতে কোন ভাগ্যবান্ জীব ।
গুরু-কৃষ্ণ-প্রসাদে পায় ভক্তিলতা-বীজ ॥

brahmanda bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva
guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija

'Having travelled throughout the universe, some fortunate souls receive the seed of the devotional creeper by the mercy of Sri Guru, who is non-different from Krishna.'

But if somebody is a fortunate soul and can undestand this, they can get connection with the Lord through gurudev. After that, Maya Devi will slowly, slowly run away from them. But Maya Devi is always giving us her naughty order and instruction, and we are following it. We honour her naughty instruction, that is why we are suffering.
