Guru Maharaj says that many unwanted elements (anarthas) always come up in this world. People are fighting for gurudev's wealth and property, but gurudev's real property is not great buildings or temples. Gurudev's property is divine love, love and affection, and this is what we must become qualified to receive.

One time, somebody asked Srila Prabhupad, 'Prabhupad, can anybody be called a disciple?' Srila Prabhupad said, 'No. Real disciples are those who live following their guru with chastity (anugatya) and who, following their guru's order, serve and please their guru and Vaishnavs.'

For example, you all came here yesterday taking a train from Howrah, and you know that although gurudev has bought you tickets to go to Vrindavan, some of you could not sit nicely, so you had to struggle on the train. Suppose you cannot tolerate the austerity and get off the train earlier. Whose problem will it be? Yours. If you get off the train in the middle of the way, it is you who will not be able to reach Vrindavan. Even if you had to struggle on the way, but gurudev has got you a ticket to Vrindavan, so you must make an effort – you must wake up early in the morning, come to the mangal-arati, etc. If you get on the train to Vrindavan but get off in the middle of the way, you will not reach Vrindavan like that.

You must keep in touch with the Lord. When you do not have anything to do at home, you call your family and ask them how they are, etc., but when you die one day, they will take your body to the cremation ground. They are all temporary family who will leave you, but 'Se kabhu na haya para (সে কভু না হয় পর): He never leaves me' (Siksastakam Giti, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur). The Lord will never leave you. You think that your wife and children are your very own, that they are your family, your near and dear, but they love you out of selfish interests.

Before you got this human birth, you had crossed 8,400,000 species, among which you had been born 400,000 as all kinds of people also. You were born wild in some tribes, you were born as monkeys living in forests, as cats, dogs and many other species. But having got this human birth, you can serve the Lord. If we do not listen about the Lord, if we do not take shelter of a bona fide guru, if we cannot chant the Holy Name accepting Mahaprabhu's conception, then our life will pass in vain – we will have to keep coming to this world again and again

কয় বার এলি কয় বার গেলি
তবু তত্ত্ব না শিখিলি ।
নিজের মাথা নিজে খাইলি
এ দোষ দিবি কারে ভাই ?

kaya bara eli kaya bara geli
tabu tattva na sikhili
nijer matha nije khaili
e-dosa dibe kare bhai?

'Coming and going, coming and going, and never learnt anything. You have been eating your own brain, who will you blame now, brother?'
