On Deity Service

I am very happy to see that your proper service to the Deities. What does Deity service mean? It is not necessary to know so many mantras—if your heart, mind, everything is for the Deities, it is sufficient. Whenever you cook something, you should think, "I am cooking for Srimati Radharani, Lord Krishna and Mahaprabhu. Actually, Radharani, You are cooking Yourself. I am not a cook, I am not the master of the cooks. You are cooking, I am only Your instrument." This is how you must cook. And when you offer it to the Lord, you should just say, "O Krishna, please take it." That is the mantra. "I do not know any necessary mantras, please take it. I have cooked this for You, maybe it has burnt, maybe it is not tasty, but You please take it."

Actually, if we follow Gurudev's instruction, we will get his property. Gurudev's property is not some building, construction, or temple. Gurudev's property is his love and affection, his heart, mind. You can get Gurudev's property—his love and affection, his heart, etc.—if you give proper respect to your Guru, if you follow his instructions properly, without any hesitation.

Madan Mohan Deity gives the relation, sambandha. It was served by Srila Sanatan Goswami in Vrindavan, and we have gone to see that main Deity of Srila Sanatan Goswami this year. It is in Karauli now, near Jaipur.

You know, we also have visited Vishnupur recently. There is also a very old Deity of Madan Mohan there, installed a few thousand years ago. That Deity Himself fought for the king. Once, some Muslim people attacked the kingdom and the king's son got sick, so Madan Mahan Himself fought, and when they came to the Deity's room after the battle, they saw that Madan Mohan was bleeding and covered with so much sand and mud. So, we went to see that Deity near Vishnupur. I had never been there before, but this year I had a preaching programme at a university in Purulia, near Vishnupur, so we went to see that Deities—I wanted to see which Deity fought for the king...
