I am very happy to see you all after such a long time. By the mercy of Gurudev, we are continuing the service of the temples everywhere, also the construction is going on everywhere, we are increasing our temples and preaching everywhere very nicely. I have heard that you are also doing very nicely, as well as Srila Ashram Maharaj. I am very happy about that.

There are so many festivals that have taken place recently and are coming. 14 December is Gurudev's appearance festival. We will inaugurate the festival nicely in Nrisingha Palli, our new main temple in Godrumdwip, Nabadwip Dham. I am happy with that, and I am very eager to make the festival on Gurudev's appearance day, this year it is 91 years since his appearance.

Actually, Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur told you will get so many gurus in this world, but you will not get so many disciples. It is very rare to find a disciple. A disciple is not someone who only takes the diska mantra (initiation)—a disciple is someone who always follows their Gurudev's instruction. It is very rare to find someone who properly, fully follows their Gurudev's instruction. A disciple's duty is not only to take initiation. If you only give some flowers, give some puja, incense, or a garland, these are all external things—you must place Gurudev in your heart. We always do guru puja and offer a garland to the Guru, but these are external things. Gurudev is actually the disciple's heart, so we must worship Gurudev very carefully, we must follow Gurudev's instruction properly.

The big problem is that everybody in this world wants to be a guru, nobody wants to be a disciple. In my own life, I have seen so many godbrothers who have run away and are now living alone. They say, "Oh, there is a big problem at the temple," "This," "This," "This," and they leave to follow their own things, but this is not Gurudev's instruction. Whatever happens, whatever problem may come, you must protect Gurudev's mission, Gurudev's devotees. That is the order of Gurudev. I also tell them that they must understand that if you leave and go to some secluded place to practise your own bhajan, you cannot leave your belly behind, you have to take it with you, so it means you will still need to eat, go to the bathroom, etc.—it means you will be always busy with yourself, when will you do service then?

We are always busy with ourselves in this world—we always work from morning to night. We exhaust ourselves spending this life on ourselves, but we do not think what will happen after death when we leave our house and everything in this world.

Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur told that we always show respect and give much honour to those who do puja, but we do not show respect to those who cook. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur says that those who cook for Deities, who feed Deities do a very important service and you must give respect to him or her.

Anyhow, I am very happy that everybody is serving together. Actually, service is our life. I have told you just now—your whole life you are busy with your own life, but you must think about Him who does everything for you, about our controller. We must think about Him and we must chant His Name. That is our reality. These are our main things.
