We always live for our own interest... So many godbrothers have left Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, have left us, have left me and are now living alone. I told them: you are living there alone, but you are staying with your stomach—you have not left your belly; wherever you go, you have to take your stomach with you, and when your stomach is hungry, you need to get water, you need to get food and so many other things, so you will still have to go begging and collecting something...

You have spent your whole life on your own things—on eating and sleeping, but when will you do service then? Sometimes we do not want to take initiation at a young age thinking that we will practise Krishna consciousness when we retire, after sixty years old. But this is not right. You are only cheating the Lord. When you live to sixty, you will already start counting to the day when you leave your body. Being unable to move, you will have to take others' help to move from one place to another. At this age your body will not be working—you will not be able to move, walk, chant, or do anything properly. At that time, you will be always remembering all your previous works (karma), and you will not get any interest in chanting the Holy Name.

That is why, you must start chanting the Holy Name and practising Krishna consciousness as soon as possible. We enjoy in this world from the beginning of our lives, and we say we will chant the Holy Name after sixty years old—this is not right, this is cheating the Lord. I came to this mission when I was almost twenty-eight years old and I think, "Why did I not come at eight years old? I should have come earlier." Gurudev is fortunate because he came when he was seventeen-eighteen years old, but I came to this mission when I was twenty-eight.

Anyhow, we are still practising Krishna consciousness, and we still have to practise—we must preach door to door, must go to beg for the Lord, "Please chant the Holy Name! That is your real benefit. You have been working for your own pleasure your whole life, you have been earning money and filling a bank account—you are keeping money aside, you are building a house, etc., but you will leave everything when you go to the cremation ghat. Why then do you not think of death and of what will happen to your body and your soul when you leave this world?" These are the main things, and this is the proper etiquette.

Devotee: We would like to give our respectful obeisances to you. Our branch is at your mercy.

I always send everything to my guru.

Devotee: Please forgive our offences or whatever mistakes we have made...

No, no, you have made no mistake. It is me who always makes offences. You please forgive my offence.

Devotee: Serving you is our happiness. Is there any particular message for the devotees here in the Philippines?

The message I would like to tell to the devotees is this. If you come for Gaura Purnima, if you send some devotees at Gaura Purnima, I will be very happy. Everybody must do this Nabadwip Dham parikrama. Come.
