...Choosing this day today, our Gurupadpadma made his advent in this world, mercifully assuming a human form similar to that of ours. The Lord can speak and give witness, but not everybody can see it, but when His representative comes to this world, he gives us guidance, he gives us a chance to listen about the Lord, and we can speak to him, we can walk with him, we can interact with him. Gurudev is the Lord's representative in this world, so his mercy is unlimited. Only our fortune is such that we cannot always understand this.

On this day, we must always think, 'How can we serve our gurudev? What service can we do to reach the holy abode of the Lord?' We must always live thinking about this.

I told you yesterday that the Lord comes up with a clever strategy: He sends gurudev to us in this world to make him easily available to us. We must always remember this. We must always live thinking, 'How can I serve my guru? What can I do to make my guru happy?'

Today is the holy appearance day of our gurudev. He chose this day to come to this world assuming a human form, and we have come to this gurudev and taken shelter in him. We pray that we can genuinely become his disciples and follow his instructions in our lives.

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

When the Lord takes your mouths away, you will not be able to speak anymore. Then why are you speaking so much? The Lord has sent you to this human form so that you can chant His Holy Name. We were born as dogs, goats, sheep and cats before, and when we were born as all those kinds of other species, we could not chant the Holy Name. Now we have got this human birth to chant the Holy Name of the Lord: we have got ears to listen about Him; we have got mouths to speak about Him; we have got hands to serve Him; we have got eyes to see His holy Deities; we have got legs to circumambulate His holy places. We have got all these faculties, but if we misuse all our senses and instruments, then we simply waste this human birth – we will not get anything; after this birth, we will have to get another birth according to our actions. As you sow so you reap.

We have been telling you so many times: please chant the Holy Name, please come to this devotional line, please practise Krishna consciousness; but you are always thinking only about eating and sleeping, you are always thinking about yourselves, about your own separate interests. How many times have I told you about this? You must get some intelligence (you must get at least some minimal knowledge), but you cannot. It is necessary to make some effort.

All the Vedas chant the glories of gurudev, of Sri Gurupadpadma (sarva-vede bale).

Our Gurupadpadma came to the Mission when he was seventeen years old and he formally served in charge of the Mission since 1987–1988. he spent all his life serving Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, and his later years he also preached all over the world. He has disciples all over the world, so his appearance day today is celebrated everywhere, not only here in West Bengal. All our temples all over the world are celebrating this Guru Puja day. So, do not lose the opportunity this day offers – take advantage of this day to listen and speak about the guru. If you can do it, you will get great benefit.
