দিন যায় মিছা কাজে নিশা নিদ্রাবশে ।
নাহি ভাবি মরণ নিকটে আছে বসে ॥

dina yaya michha kaje nisa nidra-base
nahi bhavi marana nikate achhe base

My days are passed in useless work and nights are wasted on sleeping. It never occurs to me that there is death sitting next to me.

You are busy with everything that you have accumulated over numerous births.

The other day, I went to one mill run by a Hindu. They told me, "Oh, today is Thursday, so we cannot give you anything." I asked the man, "Why?" The man said, "Because it is Laksmi's day." Then, I told him, "Oh, but Laksmi has sent me to you! She says, 'I need to cook for my husband. They have rice fields here, please go and get two sacks of rice from them.'" The man asked me some questions, and we spoke. In the end, he gave us five sacks of rice!

Yesterday, somebody asked me to tell them about ekadasi. What am I to say? If I tell you about the result you can get by fasting on a particular ekadasi, then you will be thinking, "Oh, if I fast on Putrada Ekadasi, then I will get a son (putra) as a result." You will fast to get a son, but this son will later come and grab you by the neck and kill you, then what is the use of getting a son? You think that you will fast on ekadasi to get a particular result, but this is not right. If you read Srimad Bhagavad-gita, you can get some result, so is this why you will read it? No. Gurudev, the Lord and Mahaprabhu told us to fast on ekadasi, so we fast. It is not necessary to know anything about the result of ekadasi.

Somebody asked me, "Oh, I am worshipping Deities, but I cannot pronounce the mantras properly. I do not know any mantras, how am I to worship Deities?" I told the person, "This is your mantra—'I do not know anything.' You can come to the Deities and worship Them with this mantra. There is no other mantra." [His Divine Grace laughs.] I come to offer some service, some bhoga to the Deity, and whether the Lord will accept this offering or not, it is His matter. My duty is to do service. I am a lowly soul, I have no qualification, so I am serving as I can with whatever ingredients (fruit, etc.) I can procure, and if I cannot procure anything, I will worship the lord with the Ganges water and Tulasi leaves.

I told yesterday in the class—what makes the Lord happy? The Lord becomes the happiest when you speak about Him, and if anybody listens about Him, the Lord becomes even happier. So, if somebody speaks about the Lord and listens about the Lord, He becomes very happy. Krishna is the best listener, He is the main listener. So, you can remember how well Mahaprabhu listened to Hari-katha from Ramananda Ray's mouth and how extremely happy He was to hear it. So, the Lord is the best listener, and He becomes the happiest when others speak about Him. If you chant His glories and His Name, He will be very happy. When Nityananda Prabhu becomes pleased, then we will build a service relationship with Him. We must chant Nityananda Prabhu's kirtan (sing the glories of Nityananda Prabhu); we must please Him.
