We are here to talk about practising life—how to practise properly. It is necessary to wake up early, to come for the mangal-arati, to chant kirtans in the morning. Bhagavan Gaura Hari is always satisfied through kirtan-seva. The more kirtan you can do, the more the Lord is satisfied.

Kirtan is not only singing with kartals and a mridanga. Hari-katha (hearing and speaking about the Lord and His devotees) is also kirtan. Chanting the Holy Name with a mridanga, kartals is called sankirtan.

You must always remember how we must practise Krishna consciousness properly. I have written a book, Guidance 4. If you read this book, you can understand what is necessary for our practising life. Read this Guidance 4 properly. Guidance 3 is also a very nice book. I wrote many things about guru-tattva in Guidance 4, about the glorification of Gurudev. It is coming tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. It is a very nice book.

Today also Sri Nabadwip Dham Mahatmya-mukta-mala is coming. I do not know if any of you have read Sri Puri Dham Mahatmya-mukta-mala, but if somebody has read it, it is good. You will see that when you read this book, you will think, "I am in Puri." Sripad Tyagi Maharaj has made a very nice book called Nabadwip Dham Mahatmya—it is a very big book, both in English and Bengali together, written in compliance with Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur. And here, devotees recorded what I and other Maharajs say during Nabadwip Dham parikrama and presented it in this book very nicely. You can read it. I have proof read this book, made some correction. If you read this Sri Nabadwip Dham Mahatmya-mukta-mala, you will feel, "I do Nabadwip Dham parikrama every day." And it is actually necessary to do it also—it is not possible to do this parikrama every day physically, but if you read this book every day, you will think that you do this Nabadwip Dham parikrama every day. If you read about Godrumdwip, you will feel, "I am doing the parikrama of Godrumdwip." I wrote there very nicely about Godrumdwip, about the glorification of Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur, included some articles by Srila Prabhupad, it is written there about Harihar and so many other places. This book is written very nicely—if you read you, will understand yourself that you are doing Nabadwip Dham parikrama every day. You can read about one island each day. Everything is written there in detail—what devotional practice is in which island, etc. For example, Godrumdwip is a place of kirtan. So, this book is coming today.

You all know that I always have to go to so many places for preaching. When I can go abroad, I will also have to go to many places. Anyhow, late in the evening, after the programmes, when I got time, I stayed up and wrote or did proof reading.

Besides that, many struggle to make or cannot make even one room for one person, but this year we have completed construction in nine places. Still some construction works are left—here in Nrisingha Palli (some construction is still pending here nearby) and in Mayapur. The temple in Bangladesh is now on the way to completion. Some works are also left in Uluberia, it is going to finish soon. Not much is left to do now.

Actually, I do not need your money, what I need is your mercy. Gurudev has left this poor thing here, and he tirelessly carries on doing his Guru's service despite all difficulties. You have take shelter of Gurudev, and this is all I want from you: "Guru-mukha-padma-vakya, chittete kariya aikya (গুরুমুখ-পদ্মবাক্য চিত্তেতে করিয়া ঐক্য); make the teachings from Sri Guru's lotus mouth one with your heart." If you can keep what Gurudev said within you, then it will bring you supreme benefit. Satisfying any whims of our minds is not Krishna consciousness—it is only necessary to follow what Gurudev says.
