Great Desire for Service His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
[Concluding a long lecture about Lord Vamanadev, Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhu, and Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur:] Are there any questions? I have been talking too much today. [Devotees tell the news of a devotee passing away.] When devotees pass away, it is very sad news.
দুঃখ-মধ্যে কোন্ দুঃখ হয় গুরুতব ? ।
'duhkha-madhye kona duhkha haya gurutara?' Mahaprabhu asked, "Of all kinds of distress, which is the most painful?" Sri Ramananda Ray replied, "I cannot see what can be more painful than separation from a devotee of Krishna." Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Madhya-lila, 8.247 It is very difficult to tolerate separation from devotees of the Lord. Anyhow, may Lord Krishna bless the wife of the departed devotee and give her much power to establish herself and tolerate these kinds of things. My condolences to her. Are there any other questions? Question: I would like to ask if we can sing "Radharani ki jay, Maharani ki jay," etc. on the Radhastami Day. You can sing Radharani's songs on the Radhastami day—only on the Radhastami day, not all the time. Our Gaudiya Gitanjali also has these songs, it is written there, "Radhe Radhe Radhe Govinda, Radhe Govinda" or "Radhe Govinda, Radhe Govinda." Such songs is there in Gaudiya Gitanjali, and we can sing them only on that one day (Sri Radhastami). Also, on this day you can speak in general about the pastimes of Sri Radha and Sri Krishna, but all the very high things can be told only during Vrindavan parikrama. We tell and explain about Radha-Krishna's pastimes only during the Vrindavan parikrama time. These are the highest things, so they must not be told everywhere and every day. Are there any other questions? Questions: How can we aspire for the service of Lord Nityananda Prabhu? Follow what your Guru tells. You must follow your Guru, remember your Guru and the Lord, sing kirtans, and practise properly every day—join the programmes, classes, kirtans, etc.—then you will get that aspiration for the service of Lord Nityananda Prabhu.
কবে শ্রীচৈতন্য মোরে করিবেন দয়া ।
kabe sri chaitanya more karibena daya "When will Sri Chaitanya be merciful to me? When will I reach the shade of the Vaishnavs' feet?"
কবে আমি ছাড়িব এ বিষয়াভিমান ।
kabe ami chhadiba e visaya-abhimana "When will I give up this mundane ego? When will I honour the Lord's devotees?"
গলবস্ত্র কৃতাঞ্জলি বৈষ্ণব নিকটে ।
gala-vastra krtanjali vaisnava-nikate "With a cloth around my neck, joined palms, and straw between my teeth, I will sincerely submit myself at the Vaishnav's feet." If you have a great desire for service, if you have a proper desire for the service to Nityananda Prabhu, then you will get service—you will get a chance to serve Him. All right, it was very nice to see everybody today. We will meet with you all next Sunday. Please accept my humble obeisance to you all, and please forgive my offence. Dandavat, Srila Gurudev.
Jay Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami
Maharaj ki jay I am going to Nrisingha Palli and Mayapur the day after tomorrow because I need to distribute and supply some rice, potato, dal, and oil to all the Mayapur temples and some temples in Nabadwip. Due to this pandemic situation, the situation at all temples is not so good, so I want to give something to them. I can give a little to each temple. I have rice and potato because we did collection earlier this year thinking that if we made festivals, there would be so much expenditure and all the sadhus would come, but this year we could not make festivals, so instead we will give something to every temple. It will make everybody happy, and it will be Vaishnav-seva, too. Jay Srila Guru Maharaj ki jay. Nitai Gaura premanande Hari bol. Dandavat.
