I am very happy to see you all, all the sannyasis, brahmacharis and all the devotees. By the mercy of Gurudev, you are giving me so much love and affection, and I am always happy to see your enthusiasm, your inspiration. I have spoken today to Srila Avadhut Maharaj. He is in hospital now, and I am praying to Gurudev that he will be cured and come out of hospital as soon as possible to join the preaching programme. Krishna's devotees always give themselves to the service of their guru. That is the most important thing for them.

Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu told everyone to go door to door and spread His message, and our Gurudev and Guru Maharaj showed an example in their own lives. I have seen how many times Gurudev went abroad to reach out to you all, to touch your heart and how much love and affection he gave to you all. Gurudev chose me as his perfect dog for his service, and I am always at your service: you can use me in any way, in any place.

You can come here and join the temple. You can come and do some service here, at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. We have many temples all over India, you can come and stay at any of them. You can also come at the Gaura Purnima time and join our main programme. I have made a new guesthouse in Nrisingha Palli, so we have many rooms for everyone. You can come and stay with me. I am always with you. You are keeping me in your hearts, and I am also keeping you in my heart because I saw when I came to Russia (I have been to Moscow and Saint Petersburg three times) that devotees do their service very enthusiastically, with heart and soul. They may not know Indian culture so much, but they serving through their hearts, and their hearts are very clean through the association of great Vaishnavs (Gurudev and other devotees). Srila Avadhut Maharaj is also preaching there very strongly, giving good association to you all in Russia and Ukraine. I can see their mood every Sunday, and I am very happy with you all.

You are giving me this kind of respect now, but I have told many times that actually I come from a kind of family where no birthdays are celebrated, so I do not know what is a birthday or an appearance day. I did not know anything about that, but when I joined Chaitanya Saraswat Math thirty years ago, I tried to make a festival on Gurudev's appearance day, and Gurudev was very happy with that festival. He tried to come for every festival of his appearance day, and even when he could not come (he could not come one or two years because of his foreign tours), he always got the news about this festival.

Gurudev always gave me guidance, always taught me how to serve Vaishnavs, how to serve devotees. He told me, 'If you can make devotees happy, you will become a great soul.' I heard many things from Gurudev, and I learned many things from Gurudev. He always tried to serve Srila Guru Maharaj's godbrothers (Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Kamal Madhusudan Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Saranga Goswami Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhav Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Prajnan Keshav Goswami Maharaj and many others). Many disciples of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur came to Srila Sridhar Maharaj, and Gurudev learned how to serve his guru-varga by serving them. He also showed me how to serve guru-varga. Do you understand what I am saying? This is very important to understand. If you serve devotees, if you can please and make devotees happy, that is more essential for our spiritual life – if we can do that, we can be successful in our spiritual life and preaching.

Actually, we do not think about success or any result – we only need service. And service means mercy. With our mouths, we always say, 'Give me mercy', 'Give me mercy', but we actually need service. When we get some service, that is mercy. In my life, I have this kind of mercy through my service to the guru-varga, through the guru-parampara. I do not know who is a Vaishnav, I cannot understand these things, but Gurudev has given me this position, choosing me, this dog, as his great servant, and he tried to train me. He tolerated very much because I was a very naughty boy in Gurudev's time, but he made me a perfect boy in his lifetime through chastisement: I tolerated that chastisement, so I have now become a good boy.

I am trying to serve you all. I am always at your service. Please come at any time, this is your home, and I am always with you all. These are the main things that I wanted to say. I am very happy to see all the devotees and to be able to remember their faces. Everybody is keeping me in their hearts, and I am happy. This is actually my great fortune today. I appreciate the love and affection that comes from your hearts, it is very important for me, and I am very happy.

[His Divine Grace receives a phone call from Basirhat devotees and speaks to them briefly in Bengali.] Dandavat. Is everybody OK? You have all pulled me to yourselves, and I will always be with you in whichever way you engage me in your service. Whatever service you give me, whenever there is any service that I can do, please engage me in your service.
