মূকং করোতি বাচালং পঙ্গুং লঙ্ঘয়তে গিরিম্ ।
যৎকৃপা তমহং বন্দে শ্রীগুরুং দীনতারণম্ ॥

mukam karoti vachalam pangum langhayate girim
yat krpa tam aham vande sri-gurum dina-taranam

"The dumb can speak, the lame can climb a hill—all it takes is mercy from Gurudev."

First, I am offering my full obeisance at the lotus feet of my Divine Master Om Vishnupad Jagad-guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj begging him for his causeless mercy, aspiring to serve him; after that, I am offering my full obeisance to all assembled guru-varga, godbrothers, to all the listeners, to all the motherly lady devotees, and all the devotees, to all the sannyasis and brahmacharis. I am offering my obeisance at your holy feet and praying for your mercy to this low soul.

A bad day is a day without Hari-katha. Therefore, today is our good day because today we have got an opportunity to hear and speak some Hari-katha (to hear and speak about the Lord). You are present here at this auspicious assembly to hear about the Lord. Until now, you have been listening to some kirtans, and now please listen to some narratives about the Lord (Bhagavat-katha, Hari-katha). I have one prayer to you all, I want to ask you for one thing: please give me your mind, heart, soul, everything for some time today—submit everything to the Lord—to be able to hear some Hari-katha.

At the beginning of our meeting, I told you about our identity. We are souls (atma)—we all come from the Lord, and we must all come back to the Lord. Back to God, back to home. This human birth is very beautiful. You can get parents, friends, and relatives in every single birth, but not in every birth can you get a bona fide guru. Therefore, we have got this precious human body in the age of Kali, and if we can surrender to a bona fide guru and practise Krishna consciousness, then we will get the highest benefit.

The Lord personally came to us in this age of Kali in the form of a guru—He came as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and distributed the Holy Name in this world. Therefore, we must take advantage of this opportunity and take good saintly association. This opportunity does not come all the time, but we must always, every day spend in holy association, in Hari-katha. It is said in the scriptures: "Prana achhe yara, sei hetu prachara (প্রাণ আছে যার সেই হেতু প্রচার): you must preach for as long as you are alive." When the Lord takes this life away or takes your mouth away, then you will not be able to speak about the Lord. If you get another birth, you may be able to use your mouth—you may be able to call out to your mother and father, but you may not be able to utter Hare Krishna. We have got this birth now, and we can take the Holy Name of the Lord.

সাধুসঙ্গে কৃষ্ণনামে—এই মাত্র চাই ।

সংসার জিনিতে আর কোন বস্তু নাই ॥

sadhu-sange krsna-nama—ei matra chai
samsara jinite ara kona vastu nai

I desire only to chant the Name of Krishna in the association of the sadhus. There is no other way to conquer samsara.
