(7/7) Jewel of Sincerity

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Kolkata—Worldwide, 31 January 2021, part 7

…I have heard that two boys and two girls have run away from the temple [in the West]. They left because they say that they are searching for Sri Krishna, but in lieu of that they are actually searching for boyfriends or girlfriends. These are very hard words for me to say. They think, ‘If you join Krishna consciousness, you will get a beautiful wife or a beautiful husband.’ If you want a wife, go outside and take some girl from outside – why do you do this at the temple? Marry some non-devotee and turn them into a devotee: in this way, one more person will come to Krishna consciousness, which is good. Do you understand what I am saying?

Recently, two young Bengali girls have come to Nrisingha Palli. They are staying at the temple now. One of them was married for six months, and the other one was going to get married, but she refused. She told me, ‘I know what family life is, I do not want to go to hell. I am fine as I am, I do not want to get married. Save me, Gurudev.’ I said, ‘Yes, I can save you. If you do not want to get married, then come and join full-time, you can stay at the temple.’ She received initiation many years ago, and now her parents wanted to arrange her marriage. I told her that she was twenty-five years old, so it was ultimately her decision. I was ready to help them arrange her marriage – I had given initiation to one family and already agreed with them about the marriage, but she refused. She came to me and cried, ‘Gurudev, please save me! Why are you throwing me into family life? I have come to beg you to save me, but you are throwing me into family life…’ What can I do? I stopped her marriage, and now she is doing the best service – she is cooking at the temple very nicely. Both girls are living now at the temple. I have told them: if any brahmachari or sannyasi disturbs them, if they say anything untoward to them, I will not hesitate to change their clothes (to take their brahmacharya or sannyas away). Srila Prabhupad did not hesitate to do so, neither will I. Gurudev told me that Srila Prabhupad Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur once took back one devotee’s sannyas. The guru can give one the sannyasi or the brahmachari clothes, and the guru has the power to take them back also.

…I feel very sad because foreign devotees are apparently unable to come for Gaura Purnima this year… The Indian government stopped giving visas, and this law is extended until the end of February now. I do not know if they will extend it again after that or not, but they have not been giving visas to anyone this whole month. It looks like we will have to make the parikrama without foreign devotees this year. Srila Ashram Maharaj comes for this parikrama every year, and we will mainly miss him this year. Anyhow, try to come, even if it is at the last moment – if Krishna gives the visa, you can quickly buy the ticket and come. This year we are doing the parikrama during five days because we are going to visit Rudradwip.

…Please forgive my offence. I have told you too many strong words today, but I am telling you this for your benefit. What I have said is very good for your spiritual life. I practised proper brahmachari life, and I am telling you about my experience. It is very necessary to hear this. Follow this properly in your life, and it will be very good.

I remember that ** used to worry about her son because he was naughty in the beginning, but now he is a very quiet boy – he does not say or ask anything. He has grown to be a very good boy. When I visited **’s house, he came there at that time, and I saw that he was very naughty, but now he is a very quiet and a very gentle boy. I told his mother at that time that she should not worry. He is not only a good mridanga player – he has sincerity. When we did Govardhan parikrama, he walked several kilometres; and even though he was exhausted and nearly crying, he did not stop – he kept walking. I saw it and took him into my car with the mridanga

All right, I am finishing for today. Thank you very much, I was very happy to see you all.

Jay Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj ki jay.

Samsara: False and Worthless
'When we die, we will have to leave everything, and where will we go then? Wherever we go, we will again have to take birth, again have to die.' What is the solution?

Everybody is doing some service, but only a few people have attachment to their service.
