Cut Off Material Attachment

The other day, ** was giving various excuses, saying he is not well, he is sick, and I told him, "All right, I will send somebody to your house. You want to cheat and play with the temple service—you do not want to serve the Lord. All right, I will send the Lord to your house. You will have to serve the Lord from there. When the Lord comes to the doorstep, where will you run there? How will you not serve then?" He keeps running away from the temple, and his mother makes excuses. I said, OK, I will show you. I sent devotees there to preach and stay for ten-fifteen days. I sent Sripad Ashok Prabhu there also. Yesterday, he was always with me, Sripad Niriha Maharaj was also with me. He returned at ten o'clock at night, and I returned at half past ten at night. Today, I hear that ** has left for Mednipore, so he could not come today. He says, "Oh, I did not know you were coming." It is necessary to preach. It is necessary to preach Mahaprabhu's message in this world. He told me, "Oh, the car is bad, I have a health problem, I cannot walk," and I said, "OK, I am giving you the red car. If you need a car, all right. You can preach so much with this car." If you need a car for preaching, it is not a problem—take it.

So, we must practise strictly, following all rules and regulations. We must follow ekadasi. We must practise Krishna consciousness as much as we can, without Vaishnav-aparadh, seva-aparadh, dhama-aparadh, Nama-aparadh. Do not be fickle. Do what Gurudev wants you to do. If you do not pay attention to what Gurudev wants, you will not get any result. If you please Gurudev, everyone will be pleased.

We must all reach nectar, where we have come from. How long we have been staying in the bondage of the material world! Until and unless your material attachment is not gone, you will not have attachment and love for the service of the Lord and for the Lord. That is why it is said:

সংসার সংসার ক'রে মিছে গেল কাল ।
লাভ না হইল কিছু ঘটিল জঞ্জাল ॥

'samsara' 'samsara' kari' michhe gela kala
labha na ha-ila kichhu, ghatila janjala

"Time has passed as I have been busy in my material life, and I have got nothing—only became burdened."

কিরূপে পাইব সেবা মুঞি দুরাচার ।
শ্রীগুরু-বৈষ্ণবে রতি না হৈল আমার ॥

ki-rupe paiba seva muni durachara
sri-guru-vaisnava rati na haila amara

I am so wicked, how will I ever get service? I do not have any attachment to Sri Guru and Vaishnavs!

"I am so vile, so bad!" It is necessary to always think like this about yourself. We have no attachment to Sri Guru and Vaishnavs, but we are attached to so many other things. Have I not just said that? We understand our parents, wife, friends, relatives, but we have no attachment or love for our Guru and Vaishnavs.

অশেষ মায়াতে মন মগন হইল ।
বৈষ্ণবেতে লেশমাত্র রতি না জন্মিল ॥

asesa mayate mana magana haila
vaisnavete lesa-matra rati na janmila

"My mind is endlessly engrossed in maya, and not even a trace of attachment to the Vaishnavs is born within me."

Our mind and heart are engrossed in illusion, and we do not have any attachment to Vaishnavs...
