His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Adhivas of Lord Nityananda Prabhu's Appearance, evening class
Sri Ekachakra Dham, 24 February 2021, part 3
Translated from Bengali

...Because Laksman was a younger brother, He could not say anything against His brother's word. When Ramachandra agreed to go to live in the forest to make sure His father kept his word, Laksman agreed, "All right, I will go to live in exile too." Sita Devi also said nothing. She thought, "If Ramachandra goes to live in exile, what will I do living here at home? I will go with Him." Laksman also could not stay at home—He went with Ramachandra to serve His elder brother. Laksman could not contradict His brother in anything. When Ramachandra made Sita Devi go through the test of fire, when He exiled her into the forest, it was necessary for the upkeep of moral rules, but Laksman did not like it at all. Because Ramachandra was elder, Laksman could not say anything against.

However, in Dvapar-yuga and Kali-yuga, Laksman became an elder brother Himself. He became Balaram in Dvapar-yuga, and because He was elder this time, He even slapped Krishna! One day, Gopal came to His mother to complain, "Mother, do you know what brother did? He has hit Me today!" It is said that Balaram serves Krishna with ten bodies, just as Nityananda Prabhu serves Gauranga with ten bodies—He serves the Lord as His pillow (বালিস, balis), shoes (পাদুকা, paduka), the peacock fan (ময়ূর পাখা, mayur pakha), the bed (শয়ন, sayana), the carrier (আবাহন, avahana), the house (গৃহ, grha), the umbrella (ছত্র, chhatra), the garments (বস্ত্র, vastra), the ornaments (ভূষণ, bhusana), the sitting place (আসন, asana). However, when Krishna complained to His mother that Balaram had hit Him, Balaram took Him aside later. Grabbing Him by the shoulder, He started shaking Krishna, "What do You think?! Do You think Your mother loves You more than I do?! Your mother leaves You and goes to do household chores! When You get into trouble with demons and others, who comes to Your rescue?!" Hearing this, Gopal started to cry. Such was the relationship between Krishna and Balaram when Balaram was elder.

Here also, Nityananda Prabhu is elder than Mahaprabhu. When we do the parikrama of Sri Nabadwip Dham, we first come to Gaura Nityananda Mandir. When Mahaprabhu learnt who had come, He sent all devotees to find that person saying, "Listen, one great personality has come to Mayapur Dham. Go and find Him!" Nobody could find Him. Who found Him in the end? Mahaprabhu Himself. He came to the house of Sri Nandan Acharya and found Sri Nityananda Prabhu there. Nityananda Prabhu is extremely esoteric and hidden—it is not so easy to find Him! Such is the glory of Sri Nandan Acharya Bhavan, the place where Gaura and Nityananda's first meeting took place. Now there is a temple of Srila Bhakti Saranga Goswami Maharaj established at that place. Balaram (Nitai) arranges to appear as the elder brother to be able to serve the Lord. This is the glory of Sri Nityananda Prabhu.

উত্তম, অধম, কিছু না করে বিচার ।
যে আগে পড়য়ে, তারে করয়ে নিস্তার ॥

uttama, adhama, kichhu na kare vichara
ye age padaye, tare kraye nistara

"Nityananda Prabhu does not consider who is good and who is bad, He saves anyone who falls before Him."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Adi-lila, 5.208-209)

Nityananda Prabhu is hidden and extremely esoteric.

The arati is starting now, so I will not take more time now, I will continue after the arati.

Jay Srila Guru Maharaj ki jay.

We actually have no quality or qualification to speak about the glory of Sri Nityananda Prabhu. Trying to describe His glories, Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami says,

jagai madhai haite muni se papistha
purisera kita haite muni se laghistha
mora nama sune yei punya ksaya
mora nama laya yei tar papa haya

"I am more sinful than Jagai and Madhai and lower than the worms in the stool. If anyone hears my name, they lose all auspiciousness; if anyone takes my name, they become sinful."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Adi-lila, 5.205-206)

If you make an offence at Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's lotus feet, who will save you? If you make an offence to the Lord, Guru and Vaishnavs can take care of you, but if you make an offence at the holy feet of your Guru and Vaishnavs (to those who can protect you from offence), then who is there in this world to save you? We must always remember this.

Jay Srila Guru Maharaj ki jay.

Come, let's go to the arati now.

Glorious Parama Karuna
'It is such a glorious and happy day! Gaura Nitai wanted to come but They were searching who They would come with. When They finally got Gurudev's good association, They suddenly caught Gurudev's hand and came to Caracas.'

Jaya 'guru-maharaja'
'You are endowed with inconceivable genius, affection, gravity, and magnanimity. You are a thunderbolt atop the mountain of mundane knowledge, and the conduit for divine revelation.'
জয় ‘গুরু-মহারাজ’

We should be a great servant—not a great manager, a great temple president,
or a great guru but a great servant.
