I have received and read your letter. You are a very fortunate soul—you want to take initiation. I am very happy to see you. I apologise for coming late. I know you have been waiting for your initiation...

In this age of Kali, the only way to come to your real home, to your own home, is by chanting the Holy Name. This Holy Name comes to this foreign abode from above (from Goloka Vrindavan) through a guru-parampara (disciplic succession). It first was transmitted from Krishna to Brahma, then from Brahma to Narad, from Narad to Vyasadev, from Vyasadev to Madhvacharya, etc. In this way, this Holy Name was transmitted from Madhavendra Puri to Ishwar Puri, and from Ishwar Puri to Mahaprabhu. Mahaprabhu Himself also took initiation from Ishwar Puri to teach us; otherwise why will we take initiation? Whatever you do in this world, it is always necessary to first receive initiation; it is like this in everything. First you must accept a guru, who is ashraya-vigraha (worshippable embodiment of shelter), because Guru is the closest personality to the Lord. Even Krishna Himself told Uddhav Maharaj: "Acharyam mam vijaniyan (আচার্য্যং মাং বিজানীয়ান্)—the spiritual master is non-different from Me." Also, if you send an email to the Lord, you will not get an answer, but if you send a letter to me, you will get an answer.

So, you are a very fortunate soul, and you have already received the beads, and I am now giving you initiation.

As I said before, this Harinam came to our Gurudev through a guru-parampara: through Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, Srila Sridhar Maharaj, and our Gurudev Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. In his lifetime, Gurudev told me, "If somebody is a perfect soul—if somebody can practise properly and is eager to take initiation—you can give initiation to them." The biggest bead on the beads is called sumeru. Hold it and say:

শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য প্রভু নিত্যানন্দ ।
শ্রীঅদ্বৈত গদাধর শ্রীবাসাদি গৌরভক্তবৃন্দ ॥

sri-krsna-chaitanya prabhu nityananda
sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi gaura-bhakta-vrnda

This is the Pancha Tattva's Name. Ask Them for mercy. Say, "I am a fallen soul, I do not have any quality or qualification, please give me some mercy so that I can chant the Holy Name." Then, start chanting from the big beads. You can see there are bigger beads on one side. Start from the big beads. I will show you now, and you should only listen, do not repeat after me.

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

Chant this maha-mantra on the first bead, then repeat it on the next bead, and so on, one by one:

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।

Chant in this way, bead by bead, from the big beads to the small beads, then without crossing the sumaru bead, continue to chant from the small beads to the big beads, then again from the big beads to the small beads, and again from the small beads to the big beads, and so on. Chant sixteen rounds or more in this way every day. If you are busy with service any day, then you can chant at least four rounds. Four rounds must be chanted every day. Chant the Holy Name, and Krishna will reveal Himself in your heart, you will be successful in your spiritual life.

There is also this ten offences book. You must read the entire book, especially the ten offences. You must read what these offences are and avoid them. If you chant this Holy Name without offences, you will get the result quickly. You will get the result quickly.

Your name will be Aparajita Devi Dasi.

Do you have any questions? I know what you are going to ask: What is the meaning of 'Aparajita'? 'Aparajita' means the one who is never defeated. We are always defeated by maya, but we will not surrender to maya—that is aparajita.
