Hari bol! Dandavat. Please accept my humble obeisance.

I am very happy that you are preaching in your country as much as you can. Prabhupad Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur told: "Prana achhe yara sei hetu prachara (প্রাণ আছে যার সেই হেতু প্রচার)—for as many days we are alive in this world, we must preach Krishna consciousness." We must preach all over the world the pure conception that Gurudev and Guru Maharaj gave. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur told we are postmen (pion; পিওন) and we must distribute the message of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu door to door and heart to heart—we must bring it to everybody's heart. This is the main purpose of our life.

This year, so many people have come for Sri Gaura Purnima from all of Bengal and India, so I have been busy with the festival, arranging all programmes, during the past fifteen days. Now the programme has finished, and tomorrow is the pancham dol—Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Radha Gopinathjiu's appearance festival in Hapaniya. We will go to Hapaniya tomorrow, and after we will go to Kolkata (I have some service there). After that, I must go to Vrindavan next week, and after that, I will go to Siliguri. I will start preaching again. In the meantime, I heard that you have arranged for two fortunate souls to receive initiation.

[Addressing the two new devotees.] You have got some good association, such as that of Sripad Bhakti Bandhav Puri Maharaj, who is one of the senior devotees of our society. He used to be in ISKCON at first, but then he joined our mission, coming to Srila Sridhar Maharaj's lotus feet. After that, he came to our Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Therefore, he is actually senior even to me. Because you have got some good association from him, I have no doubt that you will practise properly. However, you are going to take initiation now—you are entering a complete new life, so you must harmonise everything now.

ব্রহ্মাণ্ড ভ্রমিতে কোন ভাগ্যবান্ জীব ।
গুরু-কৃষ্ণ-প্রসাদে পায় ভক্তিলতা-বীজ ॥

guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija

"Having travelled throughout the universe, some fortunate souls receive the seed of the devotional creeper by the mercy of Sri Guru, who is non-different from Krishna."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 2.19.151)

You are coming and going to this world all the time, but you have got some good association this time, and, as the result, you are facing an important moment in your life—you are about to receive the holy seed of the Holy Name.

This Holy Name has come from Goloka Vrindavan, where we all come from. We are all parts of Krishna (we are jiva souls), we are not this body. This body is temporary—we have got so many different bodies before (we have been in a dog's body, cat's body, cow's body, pig's body and so on). However, we have now got this human body, and it is important that we use this body for the service to the Lord. This body is not for eating, sleeping and enjoying. We have been enjoying and doing anything we want for many births, and even when we have finally got this human body, we have been enjoying so much, but the only enjoyer is Krishna, and we are all His servitors. Because we have some ego, we think that we will enjoy, but we are not enjoyers—we are only servitors. Everything that is created in this world must be used for the Lord, for the service to the Lord.

So, just as the Lord comes from Goloka Vrindavan, the Holy Name also comes from Goloka Vrindavan. This Holy Name came from Lord Krishna to Brahma (Lord Brahma also took initiation from Krishna), from Brahma to Narad, from Narad to Vyasadev, from Vyasadev to Madhvacharya, and in this way, it came to Madhavendra Puri. Then, this Holy Name came from Madhavendra Puri to Iswar Puri, and from Iswar Puri to Mahaprabhu. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is the Lord Himself, but in Kali-yuga, He appears in Nabadwip, where I am sitting now, as a devotee, and He shows the importance of receiving initiation from a bona fide guru by His own example (even He also took initiation from His Guru, Iswar Puri). After that, the disciplic line eventually came to Srila Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur, Srila Gaura Kishor Das Babaji Maharaj, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur and, finally, our Param Gurudev, Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. In his lifetime, Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj declared our Gurudev, Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, his successor, and Gurudev also in his lifetime made me his successor. He told me that if any sincere seeker wants to follow all rules and regulations, practise properly and follow ekadasi, then I can give initiation to them. Therefore, having got some good association from Sripad Puri Maharaj, you are ready to receive initiation.

Maharaj, please place the beads in the first devotee's hand. Make sure the devotee is wearing the kanthi-mala.

শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য প্রভু নিত্যানন্দ ।
শ্রীঅদ্বৈত গদাধর শ্রীবাসাদি গৌরভক্তবৃন্দ ॥

First, chant the Pancha-tattva's name and ask Them for mercy because They have brought this Holy Name to this abode and we cannot chant this Holy Name without Their mercy. After that, start chanting from the big beads:

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare

Listen properly. After you have chanted on the first big bead, take the next bead:

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

Chant on each bead, one by one:

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।

Chant in this way on each bead, one by one, from the big beads to the small beads, turn the beads, again chant from the small beads to the big beads, then again from the big beads to the small beads and again from the small beads to the big beads. Chant sixteen rounds or more in this way every day, it will be good for you. If you are busy with service any day, you must chant at least four rounds. Four rounds must be chanted every day. Chant in this way, and Krishna will reveal Himself in your heart, you will be successful in your spiritual life.

There is also the ten offences book (please place it in the devotee's hand now). You must read the whole book. Mainly, pay attention to the ten offences—you must read what the ten offence are, and you must avoid them. If you chant without offences, you will get the result quickly, and you will succeed in your spiritual life. Please chant four rounds now.

All right, next please. The central, biggest bead is called sumeru. Hold the beads and say:

শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য প্রভু নিত্যানন্দ ।
শ্রীঅদ্বৈত গদাধর শ্রীবাসাদি গৌরভক্তবৃন্দ ॥

sri-krsna-chaitanya prabhu nityananda
sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi gaura-bhakta-vrinda

This is the Pancha-tattva's name. First chant this Pancha-tattva's name and ask Them for mercy because They have brought the Holy Name to this abode and we cannot chant the Holy Name without Their mercy. Then chant on each bead, one by one, starting from the big beads:

Chant in this way, from the big beads to the small beads, turn the beads and continue chanting from the small beads to the big beads. Chant sixteen rounds or more every day in this way. If you are busy with service any day, you must chant at least four rounds. You must chant minimum four rounds every day.

There is also the ten offences book. Read the whole book and pay attention to the ten. You must read what these offences are, and you must avoid these offences. Chant without offences, and Krishna will reveal Himself in your heart, you will be successful in your spiritual life—you will get the result quickly.
