Dubious Actions His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
I saw today in the news that the BJP chief minister of Tripura (where Agartala is, there is also a famous Jagannath Temple there) Biplab Kumar Deb went to one man's house and cut his hair with scissors because that man had promised in 2018 that he would not cut his hair until the communist rule did not go—he said, "When the chief minister comes to my area, then I will cut my hair." So, this chief minister came to his house and personally cut his hair. This was posted in the news about Biplab Kumar Deb. He is a very young man, forty-nine years old, he is a good man. One time, Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, also chastised one man—the man had promised that he would not wear shoes until Narendra Modi became the prime minister. When Narendra Modi got the news, he called that man's house and chastised him, "What kind of promise have you made? It is nonsense! You must wear shoes!" Then, the man said, "OK, since you are telling me to do it, then I can wear shoes." So, you see, there are such people in this world... There is a devotee also who took a lock of Gurudev's hair when Gurudev left and tied it to his sikha. But Gurudev's things, everything related to him is auspicious, and we sometimes go to the bathroom, go to the toilet—we do not want to take any part of Gurudev to the bathroom or toilet. Do you understand? But he did that... [Later, His Divine Grace noted: "Last programme I said something about *** taking Gurudev's hair, but some misunderstood it thinking that *** has made an offence. Both he and his wife have so much attachment because they both personally served Gurudev in Gurudev's last days, and when they and I were taking Gurudev's eternal body in the ambulance from Dum Dum Park to Nabadwip, there was very much separation, so after that they did something with a lock of Gurudev's hair. It is not actually an offence. Gurudev allowed it in his lifetime, so it is not a problem. You do not need to think, "Oh, he has made an offence! This is such a big offence!" No. I read what is published at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math International website. Somebody can think, "Oh, we are taking that hair to the bathroom, it is not good," at the same time we sometimes also clean Gurudev's stool, and that is also service. Actually, it is not necessary to gossip about all this."] Gurudev's body is aprakrita, his body is not natural or material. Gurudev left his body at 4:20 a.m., but when we were bathing his body in front of the samadhi mandir of Srila Sridhar Maharaj, his body was not hard at that time—it was soft. Even when I had to push and place the body into the samadhi, I saw there was no difference in his body—it was just as it was, not hard, not anything, he looked the same as if he was just sleeping... That day is coming on 24 April this year... Every year this day is very unbearable for me, and every year this day comes to me. I have to tolerate this day every year... Gurudev also could not tolerate Srila Sridhar Maharaj's disappearance day. I have only once or twice seen Gurudev present in Nabadwip Dham on this day, all other years he passed his time with other devotees either in Kolkata or some foreign country (mostly with devotees in foreign countries).
