Sri Guru Arati
jaya jaya gurudever arati ujjvala jaya jaya – glory, glory to; gurudever arati – the arati of Gurudev; ujjvala – effulgent; govardhana-pada – in the foothill of Govardhan; pithe – holy place; bhuvana – world, universe; mangala – auspiciousness, benediction. [1] Glory, glory to the effulgent arati of Srila Gurudev that takes place at the holy foothill of Govardhan, spreading benediction for the whole world!
sri-bhakti-sundara deva prabhu siromani sri-bhakti-sundara – Sri Bhakti Sundar; deva – Lord; prabhu – Master; siro-mani – crest jewel; gosvami – master of senses, ascetic; govinda – Govinda; jaya – glory; anandera – of joy; khani – mine, quarry. [2] Glory to Sri Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, who is our Lord, Master, crest-jewel and a mine of joy.
ajanu-lambita bhuja divya kalevara ajanu-lambita – reaching down to the knees; bhuja – arms; divya – divine; kalevara – body; ananta – infinite, endless; pratibha – keen intelligence, genius; bhara – full of, filled with; divya – divine; guna-dhara – holder (possessor) of merits, good qualities. [3] Your arms reaching down to your knees, you possess a divine form, filled with infinite genius and divine good qualities.
gaura-krsne jani tava abhinna svarupa gaura-krsne – from Gaura and Krishna; jani – I know; tava – you; abhinna – non-different; svarupa – form; samsara – material world; tarite – to rescue; ebe – now; suddha – pure; bhakta – devotee; rupa – form. [4] I know that you are non-different from Gauranga Mahaprabhu and Krishna. You have now assumed the form of a pure devotee to deliver the world.
rupanuga-dhara tumi kara alokita rupanuga-dhara – Sri Rupanuga current, line; tumi – you; kara alokita – brighten, illuminate; prabhakara – the sun; sama – like; prabha – radiance, glow; bhuvana – the world; vidita – known, celebrated. [5] Illuminating the current of Sri Rupanuga, your sun-like radiance is renowned throughout the world.
suddha bhakti pracharite toma sama nai suddha – pure; bhakti – devotion; pracharite – to preach; toma – you; sama – like, equal; nai – there is no; akalanka – spotless; indu – moon; yena – like; dayala – merciful; nitai – Nitai. [6] There is no one like you to preach pure devotion – a spotless moon, you are as merciful as Lord Nityananda.
ullasita visva-vasi labhe prema-dhana ullasita – rejoicing, delighted; visva-vasi – inhabitants of the world; labhe – get; prema – transcendental love; dhana – the treasure, wealth; anande – in joy; nachiya – dancing; gahe – sing; tava – your; gunagana – glories. [7] All residents of the world rejoice attaining the wealth of transcendental love for the Lord – dancing for joy, they sing your glories.
sthapila asrama bahu jagata majhare sthapila – established; asrama – temples; bahu – many; jagata majhare – in (amidst) the world; paramahamsa-dharma – the religion of the devotees of the highest calibre; jnana – knowledge; siksara – the teachings; prachare – preach. [8] You have established many temples all over the world to preach and teach about the highest devotion.
chintyachintya veda-jnane tumi adhikari chintya-achintya – conceivable and inconceivable; veda – [of the] Vedas; jnane – in the knowledge; tumi – you; adhikari – possess the qualification; sakala – all; samsaya – doubt, apprehension; chhettva – able to sever; su-siddhanta-dhari – holder of the highest conception. [9] Expert in both conceivable and inconceivable Vedic knowledge, you are the holder of the highest conception and can sever all doubts.
tomara mahima gahe goloka mandale tomara – your; mahima – glory; gahe – is chanted; goloka – [of] Goloka; mandale – in the world; nitya – eternal; siddha – perfected; parikare – associates (surrounded by); tava – your; lila-sthale – in the places of [your] pastimes. [10] Your glories are chanted in Goloka. You are surrounded by eternally self-realised souls in the places of your pastimes.
patita-pavana tumi dayara samira patita – fallen; pavana – merciful to; tumi – you; dayara – of mercy, compassion; samira – ocean; sarva-karye – all works, activities; su-nipuna – supremely expert; satya – truthful; su-gambhira – grave, solemn. [11] An ocean of compassion, you are merciful to the fallen. You are highly expert in all activities, truthful and very serious.
apurva lekhani dhara pragadha panditya apurva – wonderful, supramundane; lekhani – writings; dhara – current, flow; pragadha – profound; panditya – scholarship; sada – always; hasya – smiling; mista – sweet; bhasi – spoken; susila – very cooling (pleasing); kavitva – poetry. [12] Your supramundane writings are a current of profound scholarship. You always smile and speak sweetly to everyone. Your poetry is very comforting and pleasing.
sadhu-sange sadanandi sarala vinayi sadhu-sange – in the association of saints, pure devotees; sada-anandi – always rejoicing; sarala – simple-hearted, sincere; vinayi – modest, meek; sabha-madhye – at an assembly; vakta – speaker; srestha – highest; sarvatra – always; vijayi – victorious. [13] Simple and modest, you are always joyful in the association of pure devotees, and at holy assemblies, you are the best speaker, forever victorious.
gaudiya gagane tumi acharya-bhaskara gaudiya – of Gaudiya; gagane – in the sky; tumi – you; acharya – [are] the great teacher who teaches by example; bhaskara – the sun; nirantara – always; seva-priya – love service; mista – sweet; kanthasvara – voice. [14] You are the radiant acharya, the sun illuminating the Gaudiya sky. You always love to engage in service. You have a sweet tone of voice.
tomara karuna mage trikala vilase tomara – your; karuna – mercy; mage – begs; tri-kala – in the morning, afternoon and evening (or in the past, present and future); vilase – in the playful, amorous pastimes; gandharvika – Gandharvika (Srimati Radharani); giridhari – Giridhari (Lord Krishna); seva – service; matra – only; ase – hopes. [15] In the past, present and future (in the morning, afternoon and evening), [this lowly servant] begs for your mercy with the only aspiration to be granted some service in the playful loving pastimes of Sri Sri Gandharvika Giridhari.
krpa kara ohe prabhu sri-gaura-prakasa krpa kara – be merciful, bestow mercy; ohe – O; prabhu – Master, Lord; sri-gaura – [of] Sri Gaura; prakasa – manifestation; arati – arati; karaye – offers; sada – always; e – this; adhama – lowly; dasa – servant. [16] O Master, manifestation of Sri Gauranga, please bestow your mercy! This lowly servant is always offering worship to you.
