Vaishnava-sangete mana anandita anuksana: when we get the association of great devotees, we always feel a great pleasure.

Today all of you went to Bamunpara, the birthplace of Gurudev, and I am happy that you went there because you cannot always come for Gurudev's appearance day, but at Gaura Purnima time you can visit some holy places like Bamunpara, Hapaniya, Ekachakra, it is a good experience for the devotees.

When many outside people come to the holy places, the holy places become contaminated, but when great devotees come there, they purify those places. That is why devotees go to the holy places, and the holy places also always want devotees to keep their foot dust on their heads.

(1) AT THE ROOTS

...Gurudev left Bamunpara when he was seventeen years old. He came to Nadanghat—it is on the way to Bamunpara—and worked there as an assistant of a doctor. Then, a preaching party from Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math came to that village and when Gurudev heard their lecture, he became impressed and joined this mission: he took shelter and came under the guidance of Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, who is the dearmost devotee of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupad.

At Srila Prabhupad's disappearance time, he indicated who could preach the real, deep conception after him—it was Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. When Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur was going to leave his body, he wanted to hear a viraha (separation) song, "Sri Rupa manjari pada...", and he wanted to hear it from Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. After he listened to his singing, he left his body... In this way we can also understand what Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur wanted.

After Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur's disappearance, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj Prabhupad was in Kolkata, living a householder life, and Srila Sridhar Maharaj stayed in his house with Gurudev. Srila Sridhar Maharaj gave so much inspiration to his life and he removed, took him out of his householder life.

When A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj left his house, he wanted to take sannyas from Srila Sridhar Maharaj, but Srila Sridhar Maharaj told him, "You are already my godbrother and my friend, how shall I accept you as my sannyas disciple and how will you treat me as your Guru? It is impossible. I have given sannyas initiation to Bhakti Prajnan Keshav Maharaj, and you can take sannyas from him." Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj did that—he took sannyas from Bhakti Prajnan Keshav Maharaj. After that he started preaching all over the world.

He made the tunnel for all the foreign devotees, he put the seeds in that soil. Later, many devotees asked him, "Srila Prabhupad, now you are becoming old... We have learnt so many things from you, but who shall we go to after you leave?" Srila Swami Maharaj said, "In Bengal, there is Kolerganj, aparadha-bhanjan-pat, and there lives my siksa-guru. His name is Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. You can go to him, and you can learn the bhakti-siddhanta (the main things, the real conception) from him. If you go to him, I will be happy."

After A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj Prabhupad disappeared, so many foreign devotees came to Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, and many of them took shelter and came under the guidance of Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Many of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur's disciples also came to Srila Sridhar Maharaj, and my Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, was here at that time and he got the best opportunity to serve all godbrothers of his Guru Maharaj, to serve all these great Vaishnavs.

So, as all the godbrothers came to learn the great siddhanta from Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj and all the foreign devotees also came here, in this way Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math spread all over the world.

During his life, Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj handed all his duty over to our Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, and made him his successor. After Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj left, Srila Gurudev gave so much nourishment to the foreign devotees through his love and affection, through preaching Mahaprabhu's conception of humility, tolerance and giving honour to others. He went to the foreign countries 24-25 times, preaching door to door, giving everyone the message of his Guru Maharaj, of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

In this way he spread Krishna consciousness all over the world, and this is how we, very fallen souls, by the mercy of Gurudev also got an opportunity to take shelter of such a bona fide Guru as he is. That is our happiness, that is our joy, that is our great luck and great fortune.

Before Gurudev left his body, he made many acharyas all over the world, and now they are preaching Gurudev conception, Gurudev's love and affection, love and beauty. Many people are attracted by their preaching and I am happy with that.

This is how our Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math is now running properly.
